Phish keyboardist Page McConnell releases his new ambient electronic solo album, MAYBE WE’RE THE VISITORS, digitally today via Keyed Records. MAYBE WE’RE THE VISITORS was written and recorded in Iceland and in Burlington, VT. Boston-based Ghost of Paul Revere keyboardist and instrumental folk composer Ben Cosgrove has released “This Rush Of Beauty and This Sense Of Order,” the newest single from his forthcoming LP The Trouble With Wilderness, produced by indie-folk maestro Dan Cardinal (Josh Ritter, Darlingside, Lula Wiles, Session Americana, The Ballroom Thieves) and set for release on April 23rd. “This Rush Of Beauty and This Sense Of Order,” was inspired by a poem by author E.B. White of Charlotte’s Web fame about gardening and gardeners: “Not sun, not soil alone can bring to border / This rush of beauty and this sense of order.” The poem speaks to the ways in which people have attempted—with varying degrees of success—to apply some degree of spatiotemporal organization to the natural world.
EAST FOREST SHARES NEW SINGLE “POSSIBLE”
EAST FOREST has just shared the title track of his forthcoming new album “Possible,” a stirring piano and string led ballad about the hopefulness of possibilities, and the strength of being able to rebuild when you are left bare and vulnerable. East Forest is an international leader in underground sound meditation, utilizing his skilled instrumental repertoire to create space for people to find themselves and transcend nature, technology, music, and the human experience. “Possible” is the latest chapter in his ever-evolving career, which includes over 25 albums, including 2019’s album length collaboration with spiritual pioneer Ram Dass, the five hour long psilocybin soundtrack Music For Mushrooms, and collaborations with Typhoon, Laraaji, Dead Prez, Trevor Hall, and more. The opening melody of “Possible” came to East Forest on a 102-year old Baldwin piano he found in a local music shop; the unexpected softness and warmth of the weathered piano inspired the song’s theme. The song was rounded out by string arrangements by Lorna Dune and members of the Boise Philharmonic 208 ensemble.

“I brought this little piano piece into the studio feeling like it was only about halfway complete and didn’t really intend to record it or include it on the album. In the end I think it has become one of my favorite moments on the album,” says composer and multi-instrumentalist Robert Lowe, one-half of the duo that also includes Michael A. Muller, on the standout track “Nos.” “Here we lay down again on a soft bed of piano. A quiet celeste and a reverberating parlor guitar sparkle and shimmer around the edges,” adds Muller. Today’s release follows singles “La Vagabonde,” “The Myth” and debut single “Rose in Abstract.”
