Members of Milwaukee bands like Sex Scenes, NO/NO, Surgeons in Heat, Saebra & Carlyle, and King Eye & the Squirts formed Rexxx over beers and a late 70’s-early 80’s power pop soundtrack. Their debut album was released digitally last year to local acclaim, but Covid put their tour plans on halt, so the rest of the nation really didn’t get to experience the band in all their glory. Thankfully Big Neck Records has stepped in to give “Pure Pleasure II” the vinyl treatment on May 7th. You can listen to the single “I Can’t Help It” now….

KOSMODEMONIC: Brooklyn Black Metal Act Prepares Sanford Parker-Produced Second Album, Liminal Light, Via Transylvanian Recordings
KOSMODEMONIC is a doomy black metal band fueled by demon fire. Having initially emerged from the creative primordial ooze of the Brooklyn underground, the band rapidly became local favorites. Piece by piece they crafted a sound that fuses the influences of black metal acts like Craft with the art doom majesty of Triptykon and Yob. They sought to create a sound that was crushing but maintained a sense of classic metal magic, peppered with touches of krautrock, and psychedelia.
On the “Not Where I’m Going” music video, Nylon states “The Nashville singer-songwriter delivers some of the song’s most hair-raising lines in between echoey stretches of silence.
