Colin Miller (Asheville) shares “Cut the Field” single & video

“New single ‘Cut the Field’ is indicative of this ambiguity while also highlighting the heart to these songs, little ripples of beauty that reach out from the fog. Here, there are swirls of noise that weave in and out of the pronounced drums, and Miller’s voice also appears and reclines, supplementing the punchiness of the track as it grows into a far fuller second half which sits somewhere between the three records that Miller cites in the EP’s foreword: Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska, Guided by Voices’ Alien Lanes, and My Morning Jacket’s The Tennessee Fire.”

Country Singer-Songwriter and Tik Tok Sensation Jonah Prill Releases Latest Single, “You Remind Me”

Country singer/songwriter Jonah Prill blames it on the whiskey with the release of his latest single, “You Remind Me.” Written with Ryan Hayes and Justin Olmstead, this single two steps onto the scene with traction and cross-genre appeal. Shining a light on the one that got away, “You Remind Me” tells the classic story of a time where a spark and a youthful heart were not enough to stall a love on the run and keep the fire lit. From Montana mornings to Nashville nights, “You Remind Me” drives listeners down an all too familiar road of reliving a former love through everyday experiences. Prill’s baritone voice blends into pop-driven melodies with small hints of traditional country present in the slide guitar and the banjo.

Abigail Dowd To Release Third Album, ‘Beautiful Day,’ on April 23

In 2018, singer-songwriter-guitarist Abigail Dowd found a new set of intentions while on the banks of the St. Vrain Creek outside of Boulder, Colo.: be fearless, listen to her inner voice at all costs, and learn to go with the flow. Little did she know how literal the flow would be. It came in the form of both water and songs as she and her husband navigated their home flooding six times in 13 months. The first song released from Beautiful Day, out April 23, is “One Moment at a Time,” out now.

Mo Kenney – Covers + Strange Powers

I recorded this stripped down on a classical guitar in front of one mic, so you can really hear Stephen Merritt’s songwriting. “When we kiss it feels like a flying saucer landing” is one of the best lyrics.

Woodlock Shares Debut Album ‘The Future Of An End’ (Out Now)

The album – a dynamic mix of organic, acoustic elements and electronic flourishes – is the most frank of Woodlock’s career. While not following a chronological timeline, much of what follows The Future Of An End is Zech dealing with the emotional fallout from his breakdown. The album starts with one of its bleakest yet most captivating moments in “The Watchmaker,” a solemn, brooding song written about one of Zech’s lowest moments. Speaking with Glide Magazine, Zech says, “it’s a strange thing to write about your attempt on your life. It’s another matter entirely to release it to the world; it’s like having your confessional booth on a podcast. In a sense, it’s scary, but in another, I think it’s honesty that is needed. We’ve become too ok with pretending life is perfect when it isn’t. It took me being brutally honest with myself to begin the process of coming out of it.”

In the meantime, Kip Macklejar is excited to meet new fans and to continue spreading good vibes with his unique music!

Artist: CHYLD – Track: ur a puzzle

Both of these artists are on the rise, CHYLD leaning a bit more into the Electronic lane and Ronnie Lott into Hip-Hop. I was previously unfamiliar with Ronnie Lott’s work, but I have been a frequent listener of CHYLD’s for a bit, so I expected to hear more melancholy, contemplative lyrics. However, I was pleasantly surprised to hear them sing about the fun and upbeat topic of meeting a new crush. This Hip-Hop jam has buzzy synths, a groove fit for dancing, and flirty lyrics perfect for the summer time.

Michael Zapruder’s “Chinese Cruiser” video premiere

“When I was 19 I lived in Nepal for a year. I was trying to unmake my suburban childhood,” Zaprurder says of the track. “Like most endeavors, it sort of worked and sort of didn’t. We rode around on the heavy Chinese bikes, I think they were called Flying Pigeons, that give the song its name.”
