Experimental pop duo Vákoum announce debut album, share intense & ethereal “Spark” video; ‘Linchpin’ LP out 2/19/21
Vákoum is an experimental pop duo founded in NYC in 2014 by instrumentalists, composers and producers, Natalia Padilla and Kelli Rudick. Their humble 20 year foundation of virtuosic guitar playing and multi effect processing and synthesis, brought them together at “The End” —Greenpoint’s hub for creatives in Brooklyn during a guitar clinic. Since then their craft has evolved through subconscious intuition, creating a sonic mirror that redefines a system of music as an emotive dialogue that was written for each other and accentuated by each other, instilling a deeper connection to self and a shared relationship. Today they announce their debut album, ‘Linchpin’ (out 2/19/21) and share the intense visual for “Spark” with Northern Transmissions.

Artist: Dom Da Don – Track: Eagle in the City
“My name is Dominique Tiller, 21 yo, an Atlanta artist that is now residing in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Grew up through the hardships and challenges of living in the projects of college park and other parts of the inner city. Debuting this track “in the city” he explains how he has been through it all and is now overcoming it all.”
Eli shared some thoughts on how the new single came about, stating: “A few years ago I was struggling to find new ways to put songs together and trying to make things less straightforward while maintaining our pop sensibilities. Darling incorporated some new chord shapes I’d never used before as well as more adventurous drums. The vocal melodies were also written to be a bit more unusual sounding but all that being said Darling is PURE POP. It actually turned out so well that many subsequent songs leaned heavily on this one, so it’s really become a template for the next phase of Real Numbers.”
Elise Eriksen Releases “Less” Video ft. Shoffy and Blu DeTiger, co-written by Julia Michaels
“’Less’ speaks about things that are meaningful, but I wanted it to feel upbeat and fun because it has been such a tough year,” says Elise. “I had such a great time making the video with Shoffy, Blu DeTiger, and my friends, and I think it really comes across. It really gives people insight into who I am and what it’s like to hang out with me. I hope people enjoy watching it as much as we did making it!”

Captured at the end of the day during studio sessions for her forthcoming debut album, the stripped-back performance is an intimate moment, putting the focus on Romy’s songwriting and the emotion of her vocal performance.
Artist: TruckerBomb – Track: Irregardlessly
The debut TruckerBomb single, “Irregardlessly,” mixes the up-tempo swing of honky-tonk with the dark heart of dive-bar grunge. Singer-songwriter Troy Richardson is a classic Americana-style storyteller known to twist a phrase or two, infusing sarcasm and humor in equal doses to serious observations into this track crafted with clever country hooks and empowered by guitar-driven rock.
COLLAPSE CULTURE: Duo Uniting Members Of Bleach Everything, Kowloon Walled City, And More To Release Debut Via Pax Aeternum
Born of the boredom found in the earliest days of COVID-19 quarantine, COLLAPSE CULTURE is a long-distance collaboration by Graham Scala (Bleach Everything, US Christmas, Interstitia) and Ian Miller (Kowloon Walled City, Strangelight, Less Art) that started as an attempt to step as far out of their comfort zones as possible by making a dance record. The process was originally something of a distraction while it felt like the world was falling apart outside their door and therefore the end result was something darker, spacier, and more disorienting than intended – a hazy, washed-out expanse of ambient-inflected dub techno in the vein of Burial, Andy Stott, or Bill Laswell that would be better suited to dancing in the ruins of an abandoned temple in a country not found on any map than it would be for the club.

BankrollShell – “Better Off”
Artist: Monkeypig – Track: Burnmark
Overlooked swedish indie band, with post punky, shoegazy undertones. They had releases on Borderline Records and Pandemonium Records/Universal Music in the late 90’s, early 00’s. The record company went bankrupt and they deserve to get listen to. Especially this track.
Capitol Records recording artist Devon Gilfillian celebrates the season and one of the label’s most illustrious artists with a soulful rendition of “The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You).” The beloved carol, written by Robert Wells and Mel Tormé, was originally recorded by the Nat King Cole Trio in 1945. Capitol Records’ historic Hollywood Tower is often referred to as “The House That Nat Built” due to the remarkable string of hits that Cole recorded for the label.

Daydream Unveils Full Album Stream
Daydream’s sound is difficult to describe. It’s noisy and chaotic but held together by riffs and melodies that will get stuck in your head for days. It sounds like Lebenden Toten through a Jesus Lizard filter.
Mystic Operative is the band’s second LP. Their first was released by Symphony of Destruction in Italy, and seemed to go under the radar, at least in the United States. On their second LP, the band takes on the commodification of every aspect of our lives.

New Latinx Artist Pand$tackz for Skope Magazine
Following the release of his earlier singles this year, “Take You To the Stars” and “Come Baby Close,” Panda$tackz swaps his vintage bluesy romantic swagger for a gritty new Chicano rap, “Pancho Pantera.” The video is a playful homage to Pancho Pantera, an animated character from the 1950s used to promote the nutritionally-supplemented brand Choco Milk in Mexico and puts a lighthearted satirical spin on the opulence that is common in music videos for the genre without casting judgment. As for the song itself, the driving beat and confident lyrics could make even the staunchest wallflower want to dance…at least a little.
CYRRCA – CYRRCA – Release date: Friday, February 5th 2021
CYRRCA’s perspective is fundamentally that of a seeker, shaped by the transcendent power of poetry and a fascination with world cultures and mystic traditions. These themes form CYRRCA’s sonic atmosphere, layering it with personal explorations into spirituality, self-discovery and transformation.
Inspired by a multi-year journey across the globe, CYRRCA’s self-titled LP is a blend of the iconic, the intimate and the mythic. The 13 tracks on the album weave together the happenings of a trek that stretches from the Trans Siberian Railway to the Montenegrin coastline; from Rumi’s shrine in Mevlana, Turkey to the Korean mountainside. The lyrics tell the story of the project as it began – not as an album, but rather a collection of manuscripts, journals and poems that were written while on this spiritual quest. Years later, those writings were adapted into an album that explores themes of self-discovery and transformation.

Jake Clemons (Jake Clemons Band, Springsteen’s E Street Band) To Release His Timely New Single & Video “We The People” (Remix) Tomorrow, 12/11
“I wrote ‘We The People’ because I am sick of all of the division and all of the hatred being spewed. I wanted to remind people that the ideas that our country were founded on were ones of moral commitments, pushing towards a more perfect union.”
“I’ve always had a fairly philosophical outlook and am happy to share views on society and culture, but never used that voice so directly through my music until now. Our Democracy is at risk. We have to remind our public servants as well as ourselves that the power belongs in one voice and the will of the people. If it’s been usurped, then we must first remember our obligation to uphold it for the common good of all people and to then demand it back.” Jake Clemons
