Ceiling Spirits Share “Patterns” Video
Ceiling Spirits have shared the video for their recently released single “Patterns.” The video was shared exclusively with Northern Transmissions. The visual matches the song’s theme, illustrating the dynamics of disparate parts unwittingly creating something of an unintended force.
The “Patterns” video was created by long-time collaborator, digital artist, Jordan Rundle. Throughout their creative relationship, CS and Rundle have developed a visual language that is used to further define CS’s musical aesthetic. The video both calls upon that past vocabulary (notice the symbol that forms late in the video) and expands upon it to suit CS’s sonic evolution. Rundle and CS chose to use 3D orbs to illustrate “Patterns'” exploration of how seemingly pointless interaction can give rise to the unexpected and how the unexpected can feed itself to become alien chaos that is beyond our control.
The single is a sharp turn from her preceding upbeat track Iso Iso Iso Bored, which was described by Forté Magazine as “exciting, intoxicating and all out relatable” and also featured on The Real Songwriters of Melbourne blog & added to UK’s PopMatters Picks Spotify Playlist.

Empara Mi has released her brand new single ‘Saving All My Love’. The song displays a never-before-heard side to the avant-garde artist, which sees Empara Mi expanding her contemporary pop production with danceable beats. On ‘Saving All My Love’ she injects warm pulsating synths into a reggaeton-influenced rhythm introducing a dark new sound for the dancefloor.
Regarding the single Empara Mi says, “I’ve never released anything like this before. Quarantining back home gave me the time and discipline I needed to challenge myself and hone in different types of production I haven’t tried before. I originally wrote this track on piano but it never felt finished. I’ve always thought that there was something beautiful about a sad song you can dance to, so that’s where I wanted to take it.”

Klô Pelgag Unveils Official Music Video for “Mélamine”
“Mélamine is when just being yourself isn’t enough anymore, when your vision of yourself and of others is distorted, and your pain seems unique and overwhelming. And finally, the struggle to free yourself from this despair that has become casually comfortable,” explains Klô Pelgag.
For this first collaboration with director Soleil Denault, the concept of the video is inspired by the same theme and illustrates the feeling of wanting to be somebody else, with the help of multiple characters with familiar faces. Carving out a genre-defying space for themselves in our musical landscape, Elder Island captivate with shapeshifting songs wherein textures matter as much as melodies and lyrics are littered with crypticism. The trio’s music cherry-picks and transforms elements from genres as diverse as electronica, house, pop and neo-soul. The result is a web of sound that threads poetic lyricism and unfamiliar instruments over a backdrop of electronic elements and synth-heavy dance beats.
The first glimpse and a taster from the upcoming album is single “Feral” (backed by the R&B-inspired harmonies of B-side “Absolute”).
PUBLIC BODY release biting new indie-punk single “Table Manners”
Today (12/11/20) Brighton based band Public Body release new single “Table Manners”. Taking down capitalism and governmental hierarchy in one fell swoop, the rolling indie-punk of “Table Manners” is a joy to behold.
Poignant and provocative, singer/guitarist Seb Gilmore’s lyrics are biting and direct. Bemoaning the current state of UK politics, and the revolving door of the same poorly equipped leaders – the band (completed by guitarist Theo Verney, bassist Joe Stevens, and drummer Thom Mills) make their statement to a backdrop of subtly paced indie-punk, bringing together wobbly synths, jagged guitars and melodic bass runs.

UTHULLUN: US black metal entity premieres debut album “Dirges for the Void”
Succeeding an EP self-released the past year, the enigmatic ensemble cryptically called UTHULLUN undertakes a crossing through the uttermost nether regions of mind, body, and spirit. As our terrestrial realm is overwhelmed in havoc and bewilderment, the ghastly tome of harmony and discordance aptly titled “Dirges for the Void” hails and scorns the grimness of such hopelessness. For every melody breathes in and below a suffocating miasma of scorching dissonance and that dichotomic element permeates throughout the whole of this grand work.
