“Eyes Open But Not Looking” is about the longing for the creative spirit and the lengths to which we are willing to go to conjure it. This process requires being open to every channel internally, meditating on intention, capturing something that cannot be seen – the eyes must be open but not looking.
Filmed in Los Angeles, the official video appears to be a piece of jumpy surveillance footage from an experiment known as Project 20201. The camera captures the provocative activities of a series of unknown subjects who frequent a bedroom. After a fade to black and a flip to black and white film, the surveillance continues. The subjects are gone and a team of fixers, clad in hazmat suits, descend on the location to remove any evidence of what transpired. Watch for ZHU’s appearance in the final frames, his role as mysterious as Project 20201 itself. ZHU directed the official video alongside Joey Vitalari. Kristin Schaefer produced. L.A. Duo Mines Falls Premiere “From Behind Glass” via MXDWN
Quote fom Carson Lund: In some ways this song epitomizes the sound we were gravitating towards with this album: angular, unsettling, and neither organic nor fully electronic. A wonderful musician from Chicago, Matchess, who also performed in a feature film I shot in the summer of 2019, plays the beautiful strings, which provide a counterpoint to Erik’s sharper analog synth sounds. Like several other songs on this album, the lyrics paint a portrait of a deteriorating relationship that’s a few parts autobiographical and several parts fiction.

Dash wrote, performed, produced and engineered “I Just Need To Get Away” with one goal in mind — to create a rock record that fits in the musical landscape of 2020. Mixed by Adam Hawkins (Twenty One Pilots, K.Flay, Alanis Morissette) and mastered by Chris Gehringer (Halsey, Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey), the song is grounded in Dash’s love for 90s bands like Everclear, Fountains of Wayne, Weezer, Nirvana and Jimmy Eat World. “I don’t know how to follow trends. That’s not inspiring to me whatsoever. But to do something different and still be accepted…that’s what I want. To be accepted as I am”.

Oscar Lang Releases Hand Over Your Head EP & Single
Hand Over Your Head stays the course of Oscar’s shift from lo-fi, anti-folk bedroom-pop, towards a more warped and shimmering slacker-rock sound, fueled by wobbly synths and jangly guitars. Almost mirroring Lang’s eccentric but charismatic personality, his music practically contradicts itself, balancing experimental mischief with a delicate and deliberate focus on the euphoric aspects of normal, everyday life. Lang isn’t writing about wanderlust. He’s creating three and half minute short stories that bend old ideas into new shapes through the lens of breezy, psychedelic rock.
