The special project hears the buzzing band reimagining their original indie-rock sound to take it to exciting new heights; ranging from 80’s synthwave vibes for “Closer” and the sonically healing, ambient remix of “Teenagers” to the vastly cinematic sounds of “Brother” and a stripped back version of “Kirby Keger”. Although the band has completely transformed their work into sonically different pieces, their signature vivid storytelling still lies at the heart of each song.

Husband and wife Seth and China Kent are well on their way to adding new life and complexity to the concept of the “family band.” The Kents, better known as Colorado-based duo Alright Alright, have been hard at work creating orchestral-folk for the open-minded and poetry for the broken-hearted with their new album, Crucible. Full of contrast—between Seth and China’s vocal stylings, organic and synthesized instrumental tones, and the very real ups and downs that come with day to day life—Crucible tests the limits of genre and experiments with boundaries, something that Ben Wysocki (The Fray) leaned into and expanded upon in his role of producer.

Brother Firetribe Release New Single “Chariot of Fire”

“It always pays off to stick to your guns. ‘Chariot Of Fire’ is a song that fought its way to become a Brother Firetribe song”, singer Pekka Heino says. “We knew we had a chorus, but the rest was fluffy at its best. Jimmy (Westerlund, the producer) stepped up and put the meat around what we thought was great. The vibe of the song demanded a story about the desire to break the old patterns: it’s about ‘you-and-me-against-the-world’, about the change for the better, an ‘all in the name of love’ kinda thing. And that’s what we first scribbled on pieces of paper when started working on the lyrics. Ok, the title came from the movie, but Vangelis played no part in this one! Sadly”, Heino laughs.

Ora Violet ‘Delicious’, 4.09.2020 (Wonderland Magazine, EARMILK, Clash)

Ora Violet explain: “‘Delicious’ is a rock and roll statement about refusing to be put in a box. We have been inspired by Serge Gainsborough, Henry Miller and Chuck Palahainuk. The song tells the story of a man, in love with a woman, that was born a man. Lyrics are intentionally written to be sung from either side of the relationship. Sometimes normality, no matter how peaceful it may appear, needs to be disturbed. We don’t always need to wear a label, that when scanned, will shunt us forward to the applicable box. If you want a label, just start with ‘Delicious’. ”
