Wild Rivers previously announced plans to donate $1 from each ticket sold to their now rescheduled tour to the organization. While tour plans were postponed due to the global pandemic, the band wanted to help raise awareness for the choir and their mission with the release of this uplifting video that was filmed just prior to Covid-19 hitting North America.

Guided By Voices – Mirrored Aztec LP Out August 21st

When we last heard from Guided by Voices they had released an astonishing four albums in just over 12 months. Each of the four has a distinctive creative identity: Zeppelin Over China was a meat-and-potatoes double album, Warp and Woof was a return to the band’s low-fidelity roots and under-two-minute earworms, Sweating the Plague was a slice of moody stadium rock, and Surrender Your Poppy Field was an unpredictable grab-bag of all of the above.

Emmy The Great Shares New Track “Mary”

Of the track Emmy says: “Mary is named for a Hong Kong fortune teller I met in Kowloon, who gave me the wrong fortune when I mixed up my Cantonese words. It was written in 2017, when I wandered Hong Kong’s neon-lit streets looking to explore my relationship with the city of my birth, unaware that this was the last moment of calm before the city changed beyond recognition with the protests that began in the summer of 2019. Maybe that’s why the song is about a fortune teller who can’t tell the future. The song was later recorded in Brooklyn, with Jo Lampert, my friend and an astonishing singer who played the lead in David Byrne’s Joan of Arc, as ‘Mary’.”

STATEMENT FROM JOE WALSH

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant national health crisis, I am sad to announce that VetsAid 2020 will not be moving forward as a live and in person event this Veterans Day weekend. We had hoped to bring our traveling circus to the Midwest this year but will look forward to doing so in 2021 when, hopefully, the virus is under control and live music can be enjoyed safely and responsibly.

However, we will soon be announcing a special VetsAid virtual event this holiday season that our fans can enjoy from the safety and comfort of their homes. This will once again serve as a fundraiser to pool vital monies for veterans services around the country so I hope you will join us.

I have been personally affected by this virus. A close friend of mine was taken suddenly, unexpectedly and far too young by COVID-19. I ask you all to please wash your hands, to socially distance and, for the sake of your friends, family and fellow Americans, to wear a mask when you leave the house. We’re all in this together.

God bless America and all of our veterans out there tonight. — Joe

Powerhouse Pop Vocalist Greya Releases Music Video For Smoldering New Single

“The song is applicable to so many different storylines, and because I didn’t write it about anything specific, the vision was too broad. After weeks of talking in circles and so much panic, I finally just sat in my room one night, put the song on repeat, shut my eyes and tried to watch the song like a movie. Eventually, I reached out to Malike Sidibe, whom I’d done a photo shoot with months earlier. We shot at my house with a crew of eight people all wearing masks in 12 hours.”

Their lyrics vary from subjects like first loves, fictitious scenarios, and love notes to their other favorite creatives (David Lynch, Pee-wee Herman, and maybe a cartoon or two).

Brooklyn’s Oceanator shares new single ‘Heartbeat’

There’s a line on Oceanator’s debut full-length when Elise Okusami belts, “I think I think too much.” It’s a plainspoken yet resounding thesis for an album called Things I Never Said, which sees the NYC multi-instrumentalist hyperbolically equating early adulthood malaise with apocalyptic destruction. The type of anxieties that form when thoughts bottle up and stress gets the best of you. Today she announces signing to UK label Big Scary Monsters, and releases a new single from the record ‘Heartbeat’.

Canadian post-punk/shoegaze band ultrviolence announce new album (out 9/25)

In the intervening years since the release of their last output, 2017’s Forty Knives EP (produced by Jason Corbett from ACTORS), founding member and primary songwriter Nate Jespersen made the move from his native Calgary to the rural landscape of Okanagan, in British Columbia. From his newfound mountain home in the semi-arid working-class soul of the region, Jespersen began writing and recording the new ultrviolence album in isolation. The result is Sally Would Say.., an album that reveals the emotional, painful, and ultimately inspirational trek in which he embarked. The songs emanate from the deepest throes of frontman Nate Jespersen’s depression. Within, the listener can experience feelings of ultrviolence breaking free of wallowing nihilism by facing his demons head-on, and navigating the rocky terrain of ultimate self-acceptance and humility.
