RUFF MAJIK: New Noise Premieres Animated “Who Keeps Score” Video
“Who Keeps Score” is the latest single from South African stoner rock kings RUFF MAJIK. Now playing at New Noise Magazine, the track is taken from the band’s forthcoming new full-length, The Devil’s Cattle, set for release on October 30th via Mongrel Records, and serves as the first tune from the band to feature new member, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Evert Snyman (Pollinator) on lead vocals.
Today, Jidenna releases a new song with an accompanying video, “Black Magic Hour.” Directed and produced by Wesley Walker & Sam Pressman, the video follows the singer’s journey, and aftermath, of meeting an ancestral spirit who flips his life upside down — literally and figuratively.
Hennessey’s newest single is a sinister dance punk cover of “We Will Not Be Lovers”, a deep cut from Celtic folk rock band The Waterboys’ 1988 Fisherman’s Blues. Capturing the chaotic glamour of the band’s live shows, the song straddles the line between club banger and poem. Paste premiered the video, praising, “While the original song features a dramatic wash of mandolin, violin and Mike Scott’s painfully heartfelt vocals, Hennessey’s version adds a layer of surreal, sensual mystique.”
