Breakout pop-country duo SixForty1 will release their newest single “Forget Those Heels” this Friday, July 3. “This song was a no brainer when considering songs for our EP. It taps into the intimate sides of our lives that we wanted to share with our fans,” says SixForty1. The new song follows the release of “Somebody’s Gonna” earlier this year as well as 2019’s “Next Kiss,” “Plane Crazy” and the double A-Side single release of “Show You Around” and “I Get That.”

London punks Dream Nails have been the subject of considerable excitement in the UK since they first emerged on the DIY scene. Releasing a stream of singles and an EP, they have earned high praise from places like VICE, DAZED, The Guardian, Clash, Nylon and i-D who called the band “the best all-girl punk queertet since Bikini Kill.” Noted for their strong emphasis on empowerment from a queer feminist perspective and their involvement in a host of political causes, the band’s budding reputation has seen them tour in the UK and Europe with Cherry Glazerr and Anti-Flag, and make three consecutive appearances at Glastonbury all before releasing their first LP. Today the band are announcing their debut self-titled full length, which will be released August 28th by Dine Alone (City & Colour, Alexisonfire, The Chats) in North America and UK indie Alcopop! (Art Brut, Kississippi, Tigercub) for Rest of World.

Kestrels’ (fuzzy power-pop on Darla Records) new single

You might already be familiar with them, but Kestrels are a fuzzy, reverb drenched power-pop band from Halifax, Nova Scotia who excel at crafting huge sounding songs with big hooks and ripping riffs. Ostensibly a pop record filtered through classic mid 90’s indie rock, Dream or Don’t Dream is Kestrels’ follow-up to their self-titled 2016 record which was praised by places like The FADER, VICE, BrooklynVegan, KEXP, the BBC and more. “Vanishing Point” is the album opener and a perfect example of Kestrels’ brand of bounding shoegaze, a crushing and captivating track about recognizing a relationship is ending and the unease that comes with the undeniable, inevitable feeling of collapse.
