Music Icon Daryl Hall Is The Latest Guest Star On The Fred Minnick Show

Hall and Minnick sampled unique and sometimes rare whiskeys from around the U.S. while discussing Hall’s music career, including a new album in the works, life in general and each of their struggles with Lyme disease.

Minnick explains, “Daryl Hall is such an icon. I don’t think you can walk a block in New York City without hearing a Hall & Oates song. But what a lot of people don’t know about this rock icon is that Daryl’s palate is unbelievable. On his show, Live From Daryl’s House, he breaks out some good wines. On this episode of the podcast, Daryl and I sipped some great whiskeys, talked about his career and our mutual nemesis–Lyme Disease. It was a great interview, and I love Daryl’s approach to whiskey.“

Flikka Shares New Track “Stop Me From” || Out Now On Blue Flowers

Produced by Leon Michels aka El Michels Affair, Flikka explains the inspiration behind the song: “I wrote this song while going through a difficult time,” the artist explains. “I had a lot of anxiety and regret and I couldn’t sleep. I remember calling up my father in the middle of the night asking what to do with the state I was in. He told me to pick up my guitar and so I did, and this song happened. This was the first song I wrote for the Flikka project and its really about looking for love in the wrong places. It’s one of my most personal songs, which makes it hard to talk about. Sometimes you trust people who you shouldn’t trust. It’s kind of funny how some people can treat you like shit and make you feel guilty about it.”

Ella Isaacson and Gallant Release Undeniable “Expectations (R3HAB Remix)” Today

“Expectations” has been widely praised by anyone who listens, landing in New Music Friday in 5 territories (US, Germany, Switzerland, Egypt, Gulf) and racking up nearly 300,000 streams in 3 weeks. While the lyrics and underlying theme stay true to the original, the track is revamped to create an upbeat, unstoppable bop. On the track, Ella’s electrified voice bounces with the snaps and snares as she recalls, “believe me I had different expectations too”. Adding in the reality and hardships of a relationship, Ella’s calls are met with Gallant’s falsetto vocals and transparent lyrics. The two intertwine their experiences to create a heart wrenching and honest track that highlights recognizing and accepting the changes within relationships and in yourself, while R3HAB adds a new uplifting, summer anthem touch that is hard to resist.

Over the next few years she went into numerous sessions with different producers to explore and pin down her own unique sound.

Kenny Roby To Release ‘The Reservoir’ On Aug. 7 // First Single “History Lesson” Out Today

Kenny Roby knew from the start there would be a lot to say for his first solo album in seven years, the emotionally and musically expansive ‘The Reservoir,’ due August 7 from Royal Potato Family. So much had changed in his world and the world at large since his stately 2013 LP, ‘Memories & Birds,’ an exquisite reflection on the experiences and apprehensions of crossing over 40. Roby was now 48. He had been sober for half his adult life. Both his kids, now in their 20s, had left home. After more than two decades together, he and his wife had decided to split up. Roby’s iconic alt-country band 6 String Drag had reunited for runs of spirited shows and two barreling, wise rock ‘n’ roll records. And then, of course, there was the wider social upheaval of the last decade. Indeed, there was plenty to process for a new collection of songs.

Rage are back from the Corona crisis with a double bang: as had already been rumoured behind the scenes, guitarist Marcos Rodriguez has left the band. New addition Stefan Weber (ex-Axxis) was introduced to the public at the METAL HAMMER online show in early May, now the band has presented its second new member, Jean Bormann (formerly Angelic, Rage & Ruins). Alongside Peavy, drummer Vassilios “Lucky” Maniatopoulos continues to be part of the group’s permanent line-up. Peavy: “We’ve wanted for some time for Rage to be a quartet again, with two guitarists the way we operated back in the days of Black In Mind and End Of All Days.
