City-Songwriter Ten Kills The Pack Releases Debut EP ‘Force Majeure’

Force Majeure is a series of definitive moments delivered through artful songcraft and organic instrumentation as he defines “city folk” as a genre. These songs were crystallized through recording sessions held in multiple Toronto high-rises, where the sights, sounds and shapes of the city were woven into the music.
2nd Grade’s debut album, Hit to Hit, is out next week on Double Double Whammy and you can hear its final single now!
For Peter Gill (Friendship, Free Cake For Every Creature), the fearless leader of Philadelphia power-pop group 2nd Grade, being our full, open selves means we can be as sincere as we are sarcastic. New album Hit To Hit is about wearing your heart on your sleeve but at arm’s length. It’s about being both earnest and ironic. It’s playing with different selves yet managing to coalesce them into one identity; a self-aware and self-reflexive identity that makes the characters concocted by Gill amusing, relatable and insightfully authentic.

Central figure and songwriter/vocalist, Schyler Douglas, states that the song is about “taking LSD and going through the transformation of shedding one’s own skin: burning everything that was oneself and remembering one’s unity with the universe.” Additionally, the song and EP hold weight for the band in that they are looking to exhume grunge rock and rekindle an appreciation for melodies, harmonies, meaningful lyrics, and real instruments. With a past stained by indulgence, debauchery, and substance abuse, Broken Machine channel their inner demons into their brand of brooding Post Grunge.

Today, Norwegian songwriter Ane Brun debuts new track and video, “Song For Thrill and Tom;” watch/share the video HERE. The track is from her forthcoming as-of-yet untitled album, due this fall via Balloon Ranger Records.
“Song for Thrill and Tom” is about a complex, beautiful and extraordinary love story. The main characters are real people in my life, who I’ve tried to portray as authentic as possible, so that it becomes like a musical monument of the existence of their love. Like a ring on their fingers,” Brun explains, “Thrill and Tom, are my dear friend Tirilleia and her Tom, the great love of her life, who tragically passed away two years ago.” Tirilleia directed the video, saying “Developing and printing these precious memories from our 20 years together, has been the hardest – yet most healing – thing I have ever done. I hope by sharing the love, it can heal others too.”
Danny De La Rosa Premieres Official Music Video For Single “It’s Alright Its OK” on V13.net
“This song is from the perspective of a straight laced moralistic guy that is hanging out with a girl that likes to party and raise hell. The guy is trying to change her to be his idea of normal and trying to push “maybe just wine on Sundays listening to Coldplay” instead of constantly drinking and embarrassing him. He ends up realizing he cant change her and he has to stop wasting his time. The album has an extended version of this song with a cool blues breakdown” says Danny De La Rosa.

“We collected the reverb and echoes of abandoned UK buildings, the old Kray twin pub in Hackney and a disused church, and I was taking photographs of everything I saw,” Harvey explains. “Living in the pub had a huge impact. It felt like something weird was happening to time inside the walls – I was very curious and nostalgic for the old England that I could see and smell, also aware of being in this one last moment of suspension before little pockets of history just disappeared.

ALUNA RELEASES LYRIC VIDEO FOR DEBUT SINGLE ‘BODY PUMP’
“Having enjoyed being the main ingredient to many successful dance records, I started wanting to create the whole dish. In the past when performing on the stages of my white male peers, I always felt like a visitor being one of the few Black women I could see, so it never fully occurred to me to claim dance music as my music, as an artist, even though it was at the heart of my connection to music.” Aluna admits. “Then I looked at the history of dance music and saw how, for example, Chicago House, known as the invention of house music, was pioneered in the Black and Latino LGTBQ+ communities which gave me inspiration to stake my flag in the ground as a Black woman in dance music by taking control of production and songwriting with my own vibe.”
Skip Marley takes a giant step into music history as “Slow Down,” his global smash with multi-platinum Grammy© Award-winning artist H.E.R., takes the #1 spot on the Billboard R&B adult chart and at Mediabase Urban AC (Adult Contemporary), the first time a Jamaican-born artist has scaled this plateau. On the success of the single, Skip states, “I never set my sights on a chart position when we recorded the song, but I give praise and thanks to the almighty that the music can reach these heights and connect to a wider audience. Ever proud to represent Jamaica achieving new levels in any endeavor. We apprecialove all the DJs, programmers, and stations who supported. It takes an army of Jah soldiers to make this type of noise. Maximum respect to H.E.R. for lifting the track with her heavenly vocals and much love to Wale for blessing the remix.”
BEDSORE: 20 Buck Spin To Release Hypnagogic Hallucinations LP; “The Gate, Closure (Sarcoptes Obitus)” Now Streaming
Warping minds and matter with their two-track 2018 demo, BEDSORE came to the attention of 20 Buck Spin, who together in twisting conspiracy now issues the band’s proper full-length, marking the first Italian band to sign with the label. Hypnagogic Hallucinations is a fitting title for the dark lucid dreamscapes and obscure fantasia BEDSORE delivers on their debut. Like an Argento film, the Roman band paints the canvas of death metal in vivid bright washes of ornamented color and stabs of inventive horror that belies the corporeal grotesquery of the band’s name. Probing into the brain through psychedelic digression and winding hypnotic prog a protean world of weird organic contours and mysterious meaning take shape.
