Roccwell “Still Lovin’ Boombap” – Album Out Now

Still Lovin’ Boombap – the slogan with which the Munich-based beat-maker Roccwell titles his album stands not only for his unbroken love of the Boombap sound, but above all, for the daily struggle of the Hip-Hop generation of 35 plus.

Bringing his family, job and music under one roof is not Roccwell’s only challenge. Especially in an expensive city like Munich, which likes to give the protagonists of the subculture the cold shoulder. Against all odds however, the passion for classical rap has never left Roccwell. It embodies an attitude to life that has shaped him for 25 years now, even now that he is a family man with responsibilities. Selling yourself to the mainstream for a few bucks with shallow beats, pop melodies and a pinch of auto-tune? Not his thing – even if it would make things a lot easier.

The lyrics were inspired by the time we took shrooms together and decided that ‘being alone with each other is like being alone with ourselves.’ It is about being at peace with your environment, and finding calm in an altered state.”

This new single was recorded with the Dummy and Red Bull-backed producer, Ghost Culture and finds Mathé exploring mental freedom, anxiety, and the ability to segue mindset in life. I think this is quite a stunning piece of music that, coincidentally, sits as quite a sound reminder of mindfulness and its importance in a time like this – particularly when people are perhaps reaching the limits of their patience on an increasingly frequent basis.

Ludic – Stream “Love Me Like”

“Love Me Like” was inspired by music in the neo-soul and pop genres that we love so much while intertwining modern production and hooks with vintage songwriting sensibilities.
