NYC-based indie folk artist Hayfitz has shared a new single, “I Want,” off of his upcoming album Capsules, due out May 29th. Glide Magazine premiered the song, lauding it “a winsome track where we witness Hayfitz’ prowess for the ethereal and experimental, bridging the worlds of Jónsi, Jose Gonzales and Mount Eerie.” On “I Want,” Hayfitz delicately sings about the time two very special in his life started dating and the feelings that followed, telling Glide how in these times especially, “we can only admire those who are shackled up with those they are deeply in love with.”

The former flame who broke his heart was the best and worst thing for him: “Devil in a dress/Angel in some Nike Airs.” Even though he erased her from his phone, the mixed emotions attached to the memories haven’t faded.

Paper Idol has shared the video of his upcoming EP Money For Flowers. “Money For Flowers” was premiered with Beats Per Minute, praising “Blending warped pop movements and circling indie rock riffs, the track skews a bit more muscular in terms of its production, though there is still a sticky sweet heart that drives the music forward. That bassline even conjures memories of Pixies and early 80s post-punk tactility. The accompanying video, filmed and directed by Kevin Clark with substantial assistance from Ilse Van Rijssen, is a vibrant mash of colored filters, psychedelic effects, and Matan KG swimming around while trying to avoid hypothermia.

Diamond Shake, the solo project of LA-based singer/songwriter Matt Hitchens, released a new video for their single “Shake” off of last year’s From Method to Madness over the weekend.

Born and raised in Nashville, TN, Velvet Ray Vaughan has been surrounded by the music industry since she was conceived after her parents played a gig together at Dollywood. Her father, a legendary session guitar player and mother, a respected background singer and multi-instrumentalist, brought her on the tour bus when she was 6 months old. Vaughan grew up touring the country with her parents, watching side stage as they performed with acts such as Lucinda Williams, Carly Simon, James Taylor, Reba McEntire and Marty Stuart. At 18, Vaughan moved to NYC to study Acting and English Literature at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
