IT’S OUT! Dead Lakes Shares New EP ‘New Language’ | Out Today on SharpTone

“I like to write in a way that is, sometimes considered, maybe too straightforward. I used to write lyrics in more metaphorical ways, whereas now I just say exactly what I mean. For me, there’s a different level of vulnerability writing this way.” Vocalist Sumner Peterson shared with Alternative Press in a recent feature. “It’s a little nerve-wracking to have thousands of people know where I’m at mentally when I still haven’t really opened up with the people close to me. Release days double as ‘I finally get to figure out what’s going on in Sumner’s head’ days for a lot of people close to me. I think it’s important to be honest and open with lyric writing because that’s what gives the listener something to really relate to in a genuine and raw way.”

THE MAD ONES RELEASE – “Tonight I’ll Be Your Echo”

“Tonight I’ll be your echo” was recorded at my home studio on April 2nd. I was feeling particularly cooped up that day and wanted to try and express how I was feeling when this little Pandemic Pop number came to life. I really enjoyed the outcome and I hope you do too. Stay safe out there!

G HERBO SHARES “INTRO” MUSIC VIDEO TO KICK OFF MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

Inspired by Herbo’s personal journey on the streets of Chicago, the clip depicts the struggle that many inner city youth face to survive. In real life, he picked up survival tactics to move through each and every day. At the same time, he gained an understanding of how to confront and treat his own PTSD, but didn’t open up until now. The visual’s narrative mirrors this transformation in captivating fashion.

GORILLAZ: ‘How Far?’ ft Tony Allen and Skepta Out Now

The track was written and recorded with Skepta in London just before lockdown and is being shared immediately as a tribute to the spirit of a great man, Tony Allen.

“I want to take care of youngsters, they have messages and I want to bring them on my beat.” – Tony Allen

Mux Mool announces ‘Skulltaste II’ LP on 10-year anniversary of ‘Skulltaste’

What happens when a guy making beats in his bedroom releases an album that takes him all over the world? He goes back to that bedroom and works on the next release. Mux Mool and Young Heavy Souls are proud to present Skulltaste II on July 10th, the second installment of the critically-acclaimed namesake that got him on the map ten years ago.

Grizzly Coast // Alannah Kavanagh – “Catch & Release”

“Catch & Release,” the latest single taken from my forthcoming EP, is about growing into yourself. It was inspired by the realization that I could really thrive on my own in ways that I wasn’t in touch with during my far younger years.

TheWorst – “Blacksheepish”

“Blacksheepish” was written and performed by TheWorst and was produced by Will Holland (Pixies, Fall Out Boy, Dead Can Dance). The song was engineered, mixed, and mastered at Chillhouse Studios in Boston, MA. The video was created and directed by Ryan Ordway. The song is the first sneak peak of the band’s, as of yet untitled-forthcoming album, and the first new material being released since their critically acclaimed debut, Jane Doe Embryo (RascalZRecordZ 2017), as well as a tribute to their fallen friend Brittany Goldych, who commited suicide in 2017. Responding through the grief, lead singer Brooke Binion would use dealing with loss as a motivation to finally beat a decade long addiction to opiates and heroin. The band is currently finishing their new album during the quarantine.

Here’s how grunge-punks theWorst are paying respect to a fallen friend

Abel Meri – ‘Salute’

Dope AF rap music for the ages. Seamlessly bridging the generational gap through classic technical proficiency with a modern aesthetic, this is what evolved rap sounds like. Abel is an Ethiopian-born and DMV-bred recording artist. An MC’s MC. A throwback to the era of bars. 90’s lyricism fused with a contemporary flow and delivery. Substantive, conscious, thought provoking rap served over soulful instrumentals. No cursing or negative imagery. Just timeless, uplifting rap music that feeds the soul. Packed full of punchlines, word play, flow patterns, cadence, delivery styles and alliteration, Abel’s versatility and range are limitless. Employing the recording style of Jay-Z and Biggie, Abel prides himself on never writing down rhymes. All of his music is created and recorded in a stream of consciousness in the moment.

WOLFTOOTH: new lyric video for “Scylla & Charybdis”!

Midwest’s riff rockers WOLFTOOTH unleash the second lyric video taken from their fist-pumping new album ‘Valhalla’, due out May 22nd on Ripple Music.

‘Valhalla’ is a triumphant return for heavy metal unit WOLFTOOTH, expanding on their tried and tested formula while proudly drawing from NWOBHM, Bay Area thrash and old school doom. As if their highly melodic, chugging double-guitar weren’t enough, this amped up ten-tracker also conveys an irresistible sense of blues… One motto: headbanging.

Destroyer presents unusual tour document for “foolssong,” closing track on Have We Met

In mid-February, when Dan Bejar and the Destroyer live band embarked on their North American tour in support of his new album Have We Met, practically no one anticipated what the next month would hold. Shot on the road by directors David Galloway & David Ehrenreich, the music video for “foolssong” presents scenes from a caravan forced to accelerate as the world comes to a screeching halt. Watch it today:

“THE 8TH OF MAY, THE 8TH OF MAY” – CELEBRATE THE LOUDEST DAY OF THE YEAR MOTÖRHEAD DAY!

‘Ace Of Spades’ – the title track of Motörhead’s 1980 iconic, game changing album – isn’t just one of the greatest hard rock songs ever written, it has truly become a lifestyle anthem for several generations of rockers, metalheads, punks, bikers, athletes, rebels, outcasts, and freethinkers all around the world.

Few songs in modern history can instantly ignite the adrenaline of music fans the way the song’s opening dirty bass riff and drum roll can. From zero to 100 mph in a matter of seconds, that speaker-destroying opening riff is unstoppable. And the song changed the course of hard rock… forever.

Sad Alex Releases New Single “hypotheticals” via Red Bull Records

Following the release of “All The Way Over,” her debut single on Red Bull Records, rising artist Sad Alex returns with “hypotheticals,” out now. One of the newest additions to the Red Bull Records roster, Sad Alex’s premier track on the label received nearly one million views and New Music Friday placements on Spotify in more than sixteen countries.

An upbeat, pop-infused single, “hypotheticals” juxtaposes bright productions with lyrics that question when and where a past relationship went wrong. Pondering all the hypotheticals that could have changed their fate, the melodic track showcases Sad Alex looking back at a former love, wondering whether things would have been different if she had changed herself.
