INDIE FOLK/ROCK BAND CHARLIE AND THE RAYS ANNOUNCE NEW VIDEO VIA THE BOOT

“Charlie and the Rays…have crafted some of the most beautiful and authentic nods to the great folk music movement that permeated coffeehouses and nightclubs across America in the 1960s. Their music is more than a mere homage, though; they have quickly created a name for themselves in today’s scene thanks to their pristine harmonies, beautiful musicianship and honest lyrics.” (The Boot)

i know you journalists and bloggers have short attention spans, so i’ll keep it brief.

FINNISH DUO THE IMPERSONATORS ARE ON “CLOUD NINE” WITH NEW ALT POWER POP SINGLE

Having previously been signed to Sony/BMG with Carmen Gray, one of Finland’s finest rock bands, Tom Tikka has formed The Impersonators, a two-man project born out of their ashes and designed to cut out the politics and strife which come from the rock & roll carnival of band life. Resolutely studio-based, The Impersonators channel the bejeweled power-pop of The Go-Betweens and the immediacy/worldliness of early R.E.M. to deliver timeless alt-pop melodies.

The Epic Hand Washing Parody

Hollywood’s response to COVID-19 has been, though well-intentioned, not well-received. This is what film writer Casey Cipriani Tweeted in response to the Gal Gadot Instagram rendition of Imagine. “Hey celebs, we don’t want to be sung to. We want you to use a million or two of your money and order ventilators, masks, and gloves from the manufacturers then donate them to a hospital. Or pay for the salaries of an entire staff at a bar, restaurant, or daycare.”

Despite Exile Premiere “Venom” Music Video

Italian heavyweights Despite Exile are releasing today a brand new video for their latest single, “Venom,” via Metal Injection that you can check out here.

With the new track, the band announces their return onto the European scene without missing a beat: “Venom” is brutal, heavy, and takes no prisoners while it discusses despair, anger, and hopelessness for humanity’s fate. It’s easy to see what made the quartet so compelling since 2013, as the band members shred and jam away, as the track is as heavy as it is catchy, making it almost impossible to avoid headbanging along.
