Exess – ‘Deus Ex Machina’ In May

The Swiss based band EXESS will release their debut album via Fastball Music in May, 2020. The album is called “Deus Ex Machina” and includes nine amazing genre-blending songs from different metal styles.

Vocalist Céline demonstrates her wide range of emotions from epic choruses to fragile slow tunes with a solid foundation of arrangements being composed by drummer Alan and guitarist Front for most of the songs, musical skills of the band members and a powerful production, which always supports the song and never overexposures for the sake of loudness.

PARALYSIS: Garden State Crossover Thrash Unit To Unleash Mob Justice Full-Length May 29th

While the 2010s coalesced around an ambitious revival of thrash metal, bands in the 2020s boldly forge a new epoch for the genre. A part of the new movement begins with PARALYSIS’ second full-length, Mob Justice. Fusing thrash metal sensibilities with the kinetic, juggernaut brawn of old-school East Coast hardcore and the relentless savagery of Tampa-area death metal, the band’s predecessor to their critically lauded Life Sentence debut spews forth ten ferocious odes of sonic barbarity.

Teaming with producer Allan Phillips, who wrote four songs for the album, Antoinette’s focus is vibrational, celebrating the progress and unique contributions made by stringed instruments in music.

“Why do we think we’re supposed to be fully understood? Why do we judge ourselves so harshly when our thoughts, feelings, and actions don’t line up with what’s widely accepted by the social circle that we inhabit?

Amber has been keen to remain productive during the current global pandemic and resulting self-isolation; “For me, making music in the Covid-19 quarantine has probably been the only positive to come out of a tragedy like this. All the pressure I normally feel when working on music is lifted. And I just have this ‘f**k it’ mentality. People get to really see you in your most bare state and vice versa. That’s the beauty in the music I’m making right now. It’s just me whipping up whatever I’m feeling. Keeping it minimal has been the key mentality for me and just having fun with it. I used to stress so much about visuals and the message I was sending with my music. I’ve learned a lot about myself already during the quarantine. And hope to keep this mentality going when all of this is finally over.”

With emotive strings, sweeping harmonies and an expressive topline, ‘Just Asking’ demonstrates how Aquilo have honed their touch as producers.
