THE WANTS SHARE “ALUMINUM” VIDEO

Container opens with a cacophony of deconstructed and broken wave forms, organic samples manipulated to simulate something mechanical, unidentifiable sounds twisting on themselves until, startlingly, from zero to sixty, the full band abruptly blasts in. Container is all forward momentum, even in its quieter moments there is a feeling of restless stirring, guiding the listener through dark alley-ways towards the singles that are more traditionally written within the canon of mainstream pop sensibility and songwriting.

Gina Kronstadt’s new single, “The Threat of Love”

Kronstadt writes music as therapy – mental and spiritual – and she composed the eight songs that comprise “October Comes Too Soon” during a challenging eight-month period while recovering from multiple shoulder surgeries. She cleverly uses “real” lyrics and her soothing-caress-of-a-voice to capture and convey honest thoughts and emotions, feelings of vulnerability and heartache, and ruminations on love, bliss and politics. When it was time to lay the tracks, Kronstadt called upon noted musicians to vividly illumine her tales: keyboardists John Beasley and Nicholas Semrad, bassist Benjamin Shepherd, drummer Joel Taylor, trumpeter Michael Stever and saxophonist/woodwind player Bob Sheppard. A first-call violin player who has performed on an extraordinary library of crème de la crème recording projects and concert stages, Hollywood box office hits and landmark television series, Kronstadt helmed the 12-piece string section that draped the tracks with lush backdrops, adding depth, drama and elegance.

Well sorta… Frontman and main songwriter Younes Faltakh is the sole survivor and teamed up with ex Das Pop member Niek Meul. The pair set up camp in Niek’s studio in Oslo and recorded 10 eccentric, mysterious and groovy tracks. Guitars do a lapdance wrapping their tormented strings around a worked-up rhythm section while Younes’ hoarse growl sounds as familiar as it does threatening.

BC Camplight Shares New Track “Cemetery Lifestyle”

The track’s lyrics are strangely prophetic, chiming with these anxious times we’re currently experiencing. As Brian Christinzio says: “By allowing me to process some pretty bizarre feelings I was having, the writing of this song allowed me to look at my fears and eventually look past them. As reflected in the lyrics, I had been having feelings that I was up against an invisible force. Something inevitable that I couldn’t ignore or outrun. This had led to my living in long periods of solitude and worry. I couldn’t have known that months later these sentiments would be eerily echoed by so many. My hope is that the song brings comfort and levity to whoever it touches.”
