Mickey Avalon battles PC culture in new video for Woke AF

Debaucherous rock ‘n’ roll rapper Mickey Avalon has returned with a brand new song “Woke AF”. Throughout the song, Mickey goes on the assault as a critque of political correctness and attacks the social justice warriors that have often taken an aggressive stance on his own hedonistic and decadent lyrical content in the past. Mickey Avalon unabashedly comes out swinging on “Woke AF” in the most politically incorrect fashion. Watch the music video for “Woke AF” online –

“Obelisk” is a very bold choice for the first single. The song contains a minute-plus synthesized pan flute solo, which is hard to justify, but in “Obelisk,” it represents the whirling, frantic voice of a tornado. A tornado that comes to terrorize a small, countryside village. Sauerteig grew up in the cornfields of Indiana, where tornadoes are an annual fact of life. They’re immensely powerful, yet graceful, nimble and coy. Almost apologetic for the mess they’re making. The “Tornado” is an intentional ambiguous metaphor throughout the entire album. Is the “tornado” a metaphor for global warming, or God, or both? A question that Sauerteig leaves that up to the listener.

People Years Share New Single “Recognizable Animal” in Advance of April Release

People Years is a dream of an amalgamated spitball wadded by the nerdy version of you and made from subterranean and atmospheric particles of bands like Luna, Pavement, Pink Floyd, and LCD Soundsystem, loaded into a straw, and launched into the midnight hair of that Robert Smith-worshipping goth girl named Summer, who sat a few rows in front of you in class. The one who despises everything Americana. The one who seems to know something that the others don’t. Summer pinches that spit ball out of her hair like a fly between her thumb and index finger, walks it over in her Doc Martins and ask you in black-lipstick language if you lost something. You stammer. She feigns anger, then brightens. She smiles, and maintains eye contact as she places said spitball on her tongue and disappears it down the proverbial hatch. You’re in love.

The 11-track opus examines and follows the different stages of her life and evolution both inside and outside of various relationships. Executive produced by her husband and musical director Devin Johnson, she opens up like never before. Right out of the gate, the lead single “Somebody Son” garnered critical acclaim with Rated R&B assuring, “Jade Novah never seems to disappoint.” However, SoulBounce put it best, “It all sounds so good, we don’t know how anyone’s son could refuse her advances.” At the same time, the track clocked over 200K streams and counting.

“Want Me” is driven by grungy guitars and haunting chimes throughout the entire track. The process of creating “Want Me” started with the beat, which reflects the anger and almost-craziness of the feeling of being blindsided. From there, Alisse Laymac produced the single while Zachary Pennington mastered it in Los Angeles, California.

A melting pot of the organic elements of folk, paired with modern elements of synth-pop and roots buried in rock, Heartmouth create a fresh new approach to the alternative/singer-songwriter genre. Today, the band releases a new, genuine single “Worth It”, a meaningful push of encouragement to express love whenever and wherever you feel it. “Worth It” is the burst of emotion that comes with overcoming fear, like riding your first bike and realizing your parent stopped holding on to it, or like asking out your crush and hearing “yes”. The single’s inspiration comes from the idea of being unable to change the wind and making the best of any situation.

“…she has that very real conviction that the act of listening and the feeling of being heard are fundamental human needs…there’s that sense of purpose in the language that she chooses, that sense of speaking in a collective way in the language that she chooses….It’s stately, noble language, and sometimes it’s optimistic, and sometimes it’s more confrontational…it’s always emphatic, but it’s also warm.” – NPR

“Listen highlights Kyshona’s descriptive songwriting and soulful vocals alongside a versatile blend of folk, rock and R&B influences. While Kyshona sings of fear, hope, community, love and understanding throughout the 10-track project, she also finds herself.” – Billboard

All of these elements are wrapped up in adroitly-written songs that combine sheer aggression with infectious hooks in the best possible way.” — MetalSucks
