““Back Lane” was self-produced. We recorded it with John Dinsmore, who also mixed the track. His studio, Lincoln County Social Club in Toronto, is a funky space that feels like home to us. We also shot an accompanying live-in-studio video performance of “Back Lane” there; it’s available to watch on our YouTube channel now! The track builds from beginning to end, and culminates in a guitar solo that serves as a cathartic release.”

PSYCHOSOMATIC: Long-Running California Thrash Act To Release New LP

Nefarious Industries proudly announces the signing of long-running Sacramento, California thrash assassins PSYCHOSOMATIC, and is lining up the band’s rabid new LP, The Invisible Prison, for release this summer. A brief teaser video, the album’s cover art, and more have been issued.

Talking about the single, Katherine Blamire explains “I needed to write about the growing feeling that the world is on the verge of real change, there is the sense that there is this scary, unknown future lurking just beyond us. We’d just adopted a cat and were told to keep him inside because the Croydon Cat Killer had just struck in the area. This sanctioned belief of a mythical killer lurking the streets was terrifying and intriguing. At the same time I was reading Sarah Perry’s gothic, Victorian novel ‘The Essex Serpent’ about a fabled beast that stalks the Essex backwaters. Both these tales came together to help me finish the song.”
