“After my daughter was born, I was incapable of writing,” Pope explains, “Having a new child was so all-consuming that I couldn’t focus on anything else. Finally, I decided to write a song explaining what I was feeling in those first few months with this beautiful new being in my home.”
Jarboe needs no introduction. As a torchbearer for avant-garde music, she is no stranger to Consouling Sounds as well. After the fantastic split 10″ release with Father Murphy, the label is truly honored to be collaborating with Jarboe on her new album Illusory that will be released on April 17th.
Illusory truly is an engaging album, where the textures of the music interact with Jarboe’s almost haunting vocals in a remarkable way. Her constant forward thinking approach makes it feel like traveling through uncharted territory, where her siren-like voice leads the way. Or perhaps, as the dark and brooding nature of the album captivates you, will lead you astray.
Zachery Allan Starkey has released the first single, “No Security” off of his upcoming album, FEAR CITY. The single premiered with The Brvtalist. Composed, performed, and produced by Starkey using analogue synthesizers, drum machines, and guitars, “No Security” is a dark, propulsive, mesmerizing industrial techno track that fills the room with a vibrant, mystifying energy.

GROUPLOVE RETURN WITH “DELETER”
Fueled by pounding keys, squalling guitar lines, and lightning-fast drumming, “Deleter” marks an unapologetically relentless new song from Grouplove. Recorded at El Paso, TX’s famed Sonic Ranch with producer Dave Sitek (TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Weezer), the track heralds the Los Angeles-based band’s highly-anticipated new album, due later this year. On the personal, political and powerful track, the voice of Christian Zucconi questions everything around him: faith systems, his sense of belonging, communities, his own psyche.
