Songwriter Stone Irr shares “Fine With Me” Animated Music Video

Stone explains, “‘My buddy Tyler reached out and wanted to do a CGI video for one of the tracks from my album. Fine With Me felt like the best fit since it has a noticeable dynamic range – starting off with solo guitar and vocals and building to a full ban. Plus it’s a short song – so there’s a shorter amount of visuals to render! We wanted to do something conceptually ‘out there’— essentially I gave him some references (colors, art pieces, the episode of the Simpsons where Homer eats a hallucinatory pepper) and wanted to give him free rein to interpret them as he liked. Tyler is a brilliant artist in every capacity (visually, musically, etc) and he made a video that matched exactly what had been spinning around in my head. There’s a lot of fun and beautiful imagery in this 3D world he made – all acting as little nods to the lyrics in the song.”

Norwegian Glam Metal Group NOTÖRIOUS Join Sliptrick records

Notörious is a hard rock/glam metal band from Bergen, Norway. The band was formed at the beginning of 2018 with the intention to bring back to life the classic sound of the hard rock/glam metal bands that ruled the Sunset Strip back in the early 1980’s. The band is inspired by legendary groups such as Mötley Crüe, Van Halen (not Van Hagar), Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force, Europe, Skid Row and Poison, etc. Being a Norwegian band, they also draw inspiration from the black metal scene and incorporate some elements of this into their own music adding spice to the mix.

The band released their first EP called Seducer in the spring of 2019 and got great reviews, saying that the band was able to capture the rawness of those earlier mentioned bands …yet the music also has a lot of originality to it. Now the boys are ready with their first full length album Glamorized which will be released via Sliptrick Records in 2020.

The Bob Baker Sound ‘The Way It Is’

Having moved to London at 17 to attend BIMM Music Institute, an introduction to producer Matt Jones (Ultrasound, Jamie XX, Beady Eye, Minuteman) was key in the realisation of the Bob Baker Sound. Inspired by his early years listening to artist like Johnny Cash, Elton John and Don Mclean, Bob wanted the Bob Baker Sound to be about the sound as well as the song. For the music to sound like it could have been recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis, or RCA in Nashville.

And so today comes his first single ‘The Way It Is’. Bob explains, “it’s a song about sudden rejection. One minute everything’s going smoothly the next minute the rug gets pulled from under your feet and you’re forced to change plans and direction very quickly. When something like that happens you’re given no choice but to accept it, crack on with things and do what you’re good at. That’s just the way it is”.

HEALTH & Xiu Xiu Collaborate On New Single “DELICIOUS APE”

HEALTH today released “DELICIOUS APE,” a new single in collaboration with Xiu Xiu. HEALTH says of their sixth collaborative track out now via Loma Vista Recordings: “The noise/DIY scene of the mid 00’s was characterized by an incredibly high tolerance for ‘difficult’ musical experiences. In many ways, the petit arms race to fortify our listening habits with the avant garde while competing with a handful of unknown bands to create the most challenging music possible was ironically juvenile and provincial. A preoccupation with abrasive experimentalism is not exactly a recipe for toe tapping or hummable melody, and many of us obscured the more enjoyable elements of music-making and listening in favor of weird shit…But not Xiu Xiu goddamn it.
