Skope video submission: J.Lately f. Blimes, “Better One”
J says the new track is about “appreciating your own struggle and journey, and using it as a way to create confidence and happiness in yourself. Blimes and I have crossed paths a lot in the local Bay Area scene, as well as moving around the country, and it was high time for us to connect on a joint together. We had hella fun running around LA shooting this video with the very talented Adrian Per. Also, my dude Space Cadet killed this beat.”
Smoke Fairies Release New Single ‘Elevator’
Smoke Fairies release a new single today entitled ‘Elevator.’ This is the third single from their forthcoming album Darkness Brings The Wonders Home set for release January 31st, 2020.
Katherine Blamire explains the concept behind the track: “Someone said to me ‘I never say goodbye in elevators’ and then the doors rolled shut and I whizzed off upwards. The exchange spurred this song – there is no way of knowing what is going on in someone else’s mind and sometimes it just feels like you’re kind of lost, like being in an elevator stuck between floors, trying to figure them out”.
Metal misfits The Injester share ‘Knifeblower’ lyric video
It’s a hauntingly theatrical, riff-raging riot, fuelled by heavy guitars, circus-induced samples and brutal beats with the distinctly raucous vocals from macabre ringmaster Ashe, leading the chant. Joining him is Auguste (guitar/backing vocals), Gaspard (guitar/backing vocals), Skinface (guitar), Old Sparky (bass), Yorick (keys/samples) and Morax (drums), powering The Injester’s pandemonium.
“Our guitarist KT Lamond edited the video between shows on our tour,” says Chow of the video. “Armed with robes, wine, a speaker and iphones, we took to the hotel’s stunning grounds and had as much fun as we possibly could without taking our pants off. Well, pants do come off in the video but you get the point.”
HUSSY, the moniker of Sophie Nicole Ellison, has been tucked away in South East London creating her trademark alt-pop sound, perfectly encapsulated in newest offering, ‘YLMD’.
The multi-instrumentalist moved from North East England to London and has been playing drums for various bands and working as a studio engineer. During this time, she started writing for HUSSY, her avant-garde dream pop project.
Listen to the newest offering from the upcoming The Turning Original Motion Picture Soundtrack from Soccer Mommy. Produced by Soccer Mommy and mixed by Lawrence Rothman “Feed” has a distinct 90s feel mixed with the Nashville artist’s pop sensibilities. She explains “I’ve always wanted to do a song for a horror movie so I loved getting to write Feed. It’s a song about letting a demon feed off your body. It was really fun to get to write something a little more imaginative than my other songs.”

HANNIBAL BURESS ANNOUNCES ISOLA FEST
Known for equal parts innovation and antics in entertainment, Chicago comedian, actor and entrepreneur Hannibal Buress has announced the first ever Isola Fest, taking place from December 13th – 15th in Isola, MS. The small town Isola in rural Mississippi, population hovering around 800 and literally named after the word isolation, is an unlikely destination to some but the perfect backdrop for Buress’ three day event combining comedy, music, games, food and more under one roof at the Playaz Palace. Headlined by Buress himself, the fest will feature performances by T-Pain, Flying Lotus, Open Mike Eagle, Serengeti, Eryn Allen Kane, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram, Khris Royal and more to be announced. Tickets are available for purchase now and range from $30 – $100. Buress has stoked media fires over recent weeks’ appearances in headlines, from igniting a politically charged Twitter-storm to re-confirming that he’s not MF Doom on stage with Flying Lotus at Adult Swim Festival. Leave it to Hannibal Buress to forge the road no one has yet taken and close out the decade with one last stunt of 2019 in the South!
