BMG is excited to welcome singer-songwriter Kelsy Karter to the Recorded Music family! With intoxicating, powerful vocals and a fresh, fearless take on rock ‘n roll, the LA by-way-of New Zealand musician is an artist to watch in 2020. Finding inspiration in artists such as Queen, David Bowie, and The Rolling Stones (among others), Karter’s music encompasses these classic rock influences, blended with a contemporary sound reminiscent of Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish. She’s also toured with The Struts in both the U.S. and the U.K. and collaborated with the band’s guitarist, Adam Slack, on her hypnotic standout track, “Liquor Store On Mars.”
Karter has been releasing songs independently all throughout this year, including the viral sensation, “Harry,” (paying tribute to Harry Styles) which she co-wrote with Anthony Rossomando, a touring musician with The Libertines and co-writer of the Golden Globe-winning “Shallow” from A Star is Born, as well as Tony Esterly (Sia, Andra Day, The Struts, Aloe Blacc). Karter is also currently in the studio working on her debut album, expected for release in 2020.

To celebrate this new chapter in her career, Karter has a message for her fans:
“Since I was a little girl, I wanted to be an entertainer. My mum and dad encouraged me every single day and told me to work harder than anyone and always stand up for what I believed in. From then on, I was always the kid to go against the grain, no matter who judged me or what rules I was breaking. Sometimes that got me in trouble, but sometimes (and in this case) it has been the reason for my success. Now that I get to call my dream my career, I still operate by those rules.”
