Wye Oak share bombastic new single “Fortune” and 2020 JOIN tour dates
Living in the same city (their adopted home of Durham, NC) for the first time since 2012 has given Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack the opportunity to chart a new path. Suddenly free to re-examine and rework the pre-existing confines of their long-standing musical partnership, Wasner and Stack returned to the studio in the summer of 2019. The result is the most generous and daring material of the duo’s career.
The first look into this new music is the searing single “Fortune,” about which Wasner says: “Life is change. Change is loss. This song is about how hard it is to let go, and the feeling of celebrating and mourning it all at once.”
James Righton (formerly of Klaxons) Shares New Track “The Performer”
“Am I this showman up on stage? Or am I the dad changing nappies?” Righton says of the conflict behind the album’s title track. “Am I living in the moment and doing something enjoyable? Or am I fucking miserable? I find that really interesting: this idea of putting on a suit and becoming this other thing.”
Too Close To Touch Release ‘I’m Hard To Love But So Are You Vol. 3’ EP
“We wrote ‘Chasing Highs’ about decisions, bad or good, that you make when trying to avoid directly dealing with a problem,” explains drummer Kenny Downey. “It’s about being reactive in the sense that when something falls apart in your life you instantly try and replace the bad feeling with something better. The video showcases different characters who are seeking fulfillment in seemingly glamorous lifestyles that are exposed as illusions that they are creating. You see them put on the facade that their lives are such successes and something to be admired but in reality it’s a lie. In actuality they are really unhappy people who instead of trying to truly confront their realities and improve on them opt to take the easy way out and end up suffering even more in the end.”

Boy Azooga Share New Track “O Silly Me”

Hope you enjoy it (no worries if not). And I was introduced to Jim Sullivan’s U.F.O last year by Tom Friend in Friendly Records. It has become one of my favourite ever albums since. Hope we did it some justice! Would like to dedicate this version to Pete, safe voyage on your U.F.O.”
