DEYO (‘Succession’ Star) Debut LP Out October 18th

The debut album by DEYO has been described as damaged-pop music. Using field recordings, antique instruments, found sounds and creative recording techniques, it is a showcase of poly-fidelity and range. The sounds on this record take the listener on a journey from a San Francisco living room to a small Canadian hut in the mountains of Banff, from a museum in Paris to a taxi-cab in South America, only to be melded together in an Oakland warehouse recording studio. At once classic and futuristic, these songs are threaded together with catchy melodies and uncommon lyricism to create unique slices of textured pop. Working alongside co-producer & mixing engineer Jeremy Black (Ezra Furman, Du Blonde, Apollo Sunshine, Geographer, Langhorne Slim), every step of the way has been a sonic adventure. DEYO had some help on a few songs from grammy-winning engineer Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Leonard Cohen) and multi-instrumentalist Fats Kaplin (Jack White, Beck, John Prine). Mastered by the legendary Bob Ludwig, this album is a culmination of sonic experiments & life experiences.

The Odd Neighbourhood – ‘Spill Your Drink On Me’ Single Release

Synthetized atmospheres that echoes those of the late ’70s bring to life the nostalgic yet evocative sound of ‘Spill Your Drink On Me’, The Odd Neighbourhood’s second single to be released this year. The smooth, velvet voice of Travis Adams arises from the music unveiling a depth of inner dialogue and a voyage through a personal path. The melody plays as a leading character when spreading a cathartic vibe that literally embrace the chorus or while suddenly changing its rhythm toward half of the piece. There is no chance to be left outside… ‘Spill Your Drink On Me’ will bring you into its world from the very first listen.

Kota Wade is extremely passionate about raising attention to mental health issues worldwide and acts as an ambassador for NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness). She wrote “Out of the Dark” as the final chapter of her mental health story, with aspiration to deliver an elevating message that even the tiniest bit of hope can pull someone out of their darkest state. “As I’ve struggled with anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, writing has been an outlet to share my struggles, as well as open the discussion to help bring light to a difficult subject, hoping to help others, or inspire them to seek help. Bringing this stripped down version to life has been extremely personal for me,” she explains.

Multimagic release single “Sunshine” on World Mental Health Day, announce new EP

Cincinnati indie pop act Multimagic returned after a several year hiatus with “Dreams” back in January, but the five piece have taken little time to follow that up with the announcement of new single “Sunshine” earlier today and a new EP, Move On, in November.

Fittingly released on World Mental Health Day, “Sunshine” is the “vibrant” and “mesmerizing” conclusion to a misdiagnosis singer/songwriter Coran Stetter received in 2017 that led to several years of health setbacks both mental and physical as well as the near-complete dissolution of Multimagic’s backing band.

The original “Chicken Noodle Soup,” by American hip-hop recording artist DJ Webstar and “Young B” Bianca Bonnie went viral in 2006. The original song was produced by DJ Webster who was only 19 years old when the song came out. Webstar would wave his arms to clear the floor at parties and tell people to “clear it out,” which gave the song its hook “let it rain, clear it out.” The song took over the scene in Harlem clubs and homemade dance videos from kids in NYC started popping up all over the internet.
