Australian darkwave duo Night Tongue premiered “Drift,” the latest single from their upcoming LP, The Stag King, earlier today with a haunting video for the eight-and-a-half minute song.

“Drift” officially premiered yesterday with a glowing, Halloween-tinged track review over at Last Day Deaf. “Almost 9 minutes of melancholic, darkwave soundscapes, like an invisible hug that would give you the maximum comfort,” the site praised. “Take a deep breath, this Aussie post-punk veteran duo will pin you down with this sublime slow-burner.”

NY’s United Waters are back with a new single “Arrowheads”

United Waters was formed in the twilight years of Mouthus, around 2009-2010, as a solo project of Brian Sullivan. It was an outlet for more song-based structures that had been drifting around the past decade and coalescing in the Arbitrary Signs imprint’s release of the 2010 LP “Your First Ever River.” Flushing out the project to play live, Patrick Cole [KHF] on 2nd guitar and Robert Mayson [Grey Daturas / Skydiver] on percussion joined in 2010. 2012 saw Chris Shields [Mr. Transylvania / Alien Trilogy] come in on percussion and new material being written, which would become the “Sunburner” LP released on Bathetic Records in 2014.

Kirin J. Callinan & Hubert Lenoir collaboration and Skope Mag

This track is his first new music since the album, and came about when he and Kirin saw each other backstage at a festival in France. They didn’t speak, but Hubert DMed him the next day and asked him if he’d want to collaborate and a week later Kirin flew to Naples to meet him and they made this track. It’s a bit of a departure for Hubert, whose album was essentially a glam record (it drew a lot of Bowie and Prince comparisons), and this one is pretty much a warped dance track, although there’s still a little bit of a Prince feel in there.
