KIIARA GETS VULNERABLE WITH “BIPOLAR” NEW TRACK & MUSIC VIDEO OUT NOW

“Bipolar is about the ups and downs in a relationship,” Kiiara says. “It’s that feeling you get when one person is all in and the other is out, and the roles switch constantly. That back and forth can be exciting and addicting, because it’s intense! It’s a high we all crave. But are we just addicted to the drama? It’s hard to let go, even when you know it’s toxic and unhealthy. You might think that such intensity means you’re in love, but if you truly cared about one another you wouldn’t be putting each other through such turmoil. That’s not love. It feels like love, like glitter and fireworks, but it’s more like being in the middle of a tornado. This is a real thing people go through. It’s brushed off, and I think it should be talked about more, especially in my generation.”

Kyle Emerson Releases New Song “Better” From Forthcoming Album Only Coming Down Out November 1st, 2019

The third single from Only Coming Down, “Better” shows Emerson continuing to push the boundaries of his artist output – both musically and lyrically. Coming together quickly after inspiration hit in the studio, Emerson explains, “Better’ initially came to be by way of a Roland TR-707 drum machine. I programmed a fast, driving beat and then the chord progression came to me right away. In the studio, we were able to layer a lot of tones to make a big sound – a process that was new for me. Personally, I was in a particularly weird space when writing this song but still felt oddly hopeful. There’s a constant battle lyrically between hope and despair, almost like the sun trying to cut through the clouds.

Adera shares new single “Uneasy” – out today!

About the new single: “It’s a bit of a touchy subject but very important. It was the #metoo movement that brought about this song. It was and is such an intense time in history. When it first started, it was very disheartening to find out that certain people were involved. This song was kind of a way to meditate on the subject.

We hope that the takeaway is that we all need each other. This movement felt like it really polarized men and women more than was anticipated. It needed to happen but we still need to work together on things like this. We hope that this songs helps to focus on what we have in common, not what makes us different.”

CHARLI XCX REMEMBERS ‘FEBRUARY 2017’ WITH HELP FROM CLAIRO + YAEJI

Charli thinks back on the experience: “Collaborating with Yaeji and Clairo was really fun and unique. We are all very different artists but coming together on this song felt so special and right. Clairo and I made a load of songs together in my studio in LA one afternoon at the beginning of the year. None of them were this song but it was so easy to write with her that the second I came up with this idea separately I sent it over to her and she came back with loads of ideas. We sent over this idea to Yaeji too and she did a really beautiful verse. It sounds so intimate. It’s one of the most intimate moments on the album. We shot this artwork in Barcelona. These two women are really kind, talented and brilliant. I enjoy both of their music so much. I’m happy we have this song together.”

Regarding the origin of the song the band explains “It was a Sally Mann photograph that was the original inspiration for this song. We’ve all come across old family photos that seem to reveal our personalities and future lives with unsettling accuracy. Donovan’s previous single “Vienna” has now garnered nearly 3.5 million combined streams and views since its release earlier this summer. Hailed as one of the Best New Pop tracks for June by BBC Radio 1, the captivating piano ballad was an apt introduction to the 22-year-old’s powerful sound, a mix of epic melodies and soulful intimacy. “I Wish” similarly showcases his talent for weaving stories through his music. “I love talking to people and seeing how their mind works,” he says, “seeing what they’re going through and getting perspectives on how people think. A lot of my songs are other people’s stories.”
