With glossy gracefulness, Other Americans have perfectly translated their radiant noir aesthetic from sound to visuals with their new video for “Neon Sunrise”, the first single from of their upcoming self-titled EP out October 1, 2019. The video premieres today on Popdose and features towering projections of singer Julie Berndsen over a futuristic cityscape brought to life by directors Todd Norris and Mitch Brian. “We created a “Neon Sunrise” world of mirrored cityscapes that owes a bit to Blade Runner, which takes place in 2019 after all,” explain the directors exclusively to Popdose. “Julie Berndsen breaks the boundaries of her 2D projection screen to connect with our lonely heroine and becomes her neon sunrise. In the end, it’s about how music can throw us a lifeline when we feel alone.”

UK’s ASHBORN sets release date for the Debut album “Awakening”
Ashborn was formed in the second half of 2017, with our musicians have many years of experience from previous bands such as Ghost, Grin & Dierevers. We started our adventure by going to the Initiate audio and media, at the beginning of December 2017, to work with Neil Hudson where we have recorded two tracks to be released. On the 10th of March, a week before our debut gig, we presented a brand new lyric video, for our song Every Word. This was done by Andy Pilkington from Very Metal Art. On the 17th of March, we played our first headline gig in Northampton, & on the 3rd of May, we went through to heat 5 m2tm in Milton Keynes. This was followed two days later by headlining a show in the O2 Institute in Birmingham. On the 18th of May, we had the pleasure to play in the m2tm semi-finals and went through to the finals. On the 26th of May, we won the final, the first time a Polish band has ever done this in England, and now we have a slot at the Bloodstock open-air festival 2018!
Shawn Kerry – “Creature”
“I envisioned the music video for “Creature” from the POV of someone in the thick of ego dissolution. I want you to feel like you’re on a mental adventure while trekking through a forest with no real sense of physical direction. You’re too focused on the process in your mind to move in a linear fashion, so things get distorted and a little funky along the way.”

Sleater-Kinney Share New Music Video For “Can I Go On”
The concept for the “Can I Go On” video was written by Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein; it was directed and filmed by Ashley Connor, a long-time friend of the band, and stars Lauri Guzda and Mami Kimura. Brownstein explains, “Within the broader thematic context of The Center Won’t Hold album, we wanted the video to speak to an existence that has been fractured and frayed by age or by loss, by divisive politics, by trauma or depression. We aimed to showcase the female body as a place of resistance, to explore how much it can withstand trespass, sorrow, and chaos. The body, then, becomes a site of transformation, repurposing invisible wounds and wear into kinetic energy and power. The women in the video display modes of strength and joy in ways we do not traditionally see.”

Kal Marks shares “Science Is Science” via The Alternative; ‘Let The Shit House Burn Down’ is out on 9/27
Regarding the song Carl Shane stated “”Science is Science” is pretty grim. I think there’s a lot behavior in this world that needs to be eradicated or we will be. There’s many problems in this world but the Earth should be number one right now, but there’s a lot of old greedy f*ckers that won’t change or die out. Maybe the human race is actually a virus, and it’s hopeless. I really wish that it’s not.”

I want commitment until I don’t. ‘Casual’ is about being in a relationship with a person of a similar temperament that is just terrible on paper but part of you wants to give in to the ‘what-ifs’ of a future together. It’s about wondering if commitment is all it takes.”
