LIFE Share New Track “Bum Hour” || New Album ‘A Picture Of Good Health’ Due Out 9/20 On Afghan Moon / PIAS

Speaking about the new track the band comment: “Bum Hour is the isolation when you shut your door. Bum Hour is about not being at ease on your own. Bum Hour is ‘that’ pattern and routine broken. It’s the need to live again in that moment as you watch the bars buzz from your lone-parent window. Your only comfort, your saviour, your little boy in his bedroom. You find yourself scrolling through your phone an act of self-harm and torture. Your mates are out – you lie down and sleep.”

Hear/Share: “Black and Blue” by Dylan Perkons

Victoria-based Dylan Perkons’ upcoming debut is a collection of richly orchestral songs that tell the story of an experienced songwriter finally stepping out to record under his own name. Perkons has spent his career working on various projects, honing his craft both on the road and in the studio, so while The Healing Day is his first solo outing, it represents a much longer journey.

The first two singles off the album, “To The Dogs” and “Back in the Tall Grass” came out last year accompanied by striking visuals, which set a promising tone for what’s to come from the songwriter who’s been described as “a pop smith totally out of the ordinary, with remarkable strength in a voice that paradoxically also comes across as frail” (Dagsavisen). Today Pitchfork gave ‘Back in the Tall Grass’ a glowing review, calling Shikoswe a “chameleonic vocal force”, following up with a 7.2 overall rating. You can read here.

ECLIPSER: Decibel Magazine Unveils “Coagulation” Video From Canadian Blackened Death Collective

Pathos is the impending debut full-length from Canadian blackened death newcomers ECLIPSER. Set for release next month via Noise Salvation Records, the record — recorded, mixed, and mastered at Topon Das’ (Fuck The Facts) Apartment 2 Studio and engineered by Scott Burniston — delivers an emotionally disturbing sonic landscape comprised of dense and transcendent atmospheres interrupted by frantic, anxiety-inducing riffs, blastbeats, and a multi-dimensional barrage of ravenous screams, blood curdling shrieks, and harsh guttural lows. Conceptually, Pathos is a cryptic and abysmal collection of bleak philosophies, exploring esoteric theologies such as hermeticism and alchemy. Laden with contrast between religious and blasphemous connotations and the overall notion that the human condition is something to overcome, the record is as pulverizing as it is thought-provoking.
