IKEBE SHAKEDOWN NEW STUDIO LP “KINGS LEFT BEHIND” IS OUT TODAY!

“Compared to the group’s past efforts, Kings Left Behind, seems a bit classier and more sophisticated. The unit specializes in concise tunes rather than extended, hypnotic jams, and slightly more so than past albums, this one plays like a collection of imaginary theme songs. While generally sounding cool, relaxed, and funky, there’s more of a dramatic edge to these tracks.” – ALLMUSIC

One High Five – Fast Food single

Those of us not in bands savor the gossip and the salacious stories when we hear of band members leaving. We rarely consider the emotions of the remaining members. Do they mourn these losses like romantic break-ups? Do they yearn for the departed member the way they would long for a lost friend of family member?

Nobody’s Baby Share Debut Self-Titled EP, New Tour Dates To Be Announced Soon

The pounding debut EP from Nobody’s Baby honors the brash sincerity of doo-wop and 60’s Girl Groups, whilst dragging up the grim undertones of modern life. Beneath the layers of unhinged guitar, duel female/male vocals, and troglodyte drums lies a melodramatic teenage tale told in five burning tracks. The songwriting is a collaboration between guitarists Katie Rose and Peter Niven — themes range from the “live fast, die young” attitude to the stubborn heartbreak of young love. The band’s sound boils between shockingly modern (turn it down!) to warm and fuzzy tube glory all within a single track. The EP was recorded and mixed with ringing ears at District Recording by the band’s drummer, Ryan Perras.

“The Hecks are adept at not just giving you good vibes, but a lot of flowering character. The songs grow inside you like weeds, sturdy and imperceptible.” – Tiny Mix Tapes

The subjects of the song rotate from failed judicial systems, anti-political norms to serial killers.

Martian Subculture Drops “All Emotions Are Equal” Via Austin Town Hall

“The man behind the music, Evan O’Malley, has a very Tame Impala way of doing things having record all of the musical parts on his own. What differs for me, and what I enjoy much more about this than TI, is O’Malley’s ability to create a super catchy, short pop ditty without all that disco influence.” -Austin Town Hall

SOULY HAD RELEASES NEW EP “B.L.I.S.S.”

Souly Had is a singer/songwriter/producer from Duanesburg, NY (just outside Albany, NY). As a member of the hip-hop collective Entreband, a crew of self-starting, like-minded artists and creatives, he has developed a pop/R&B sound all his own. It’s a far cry from when he was making the rounds at local rap shows at age 16. As a digital imaging student at Community College, he would “go on YouTube and try to find dope music,” he told Times Union, his hometown newspaper last summer. Before long, he was making beats on his iPhone and eventually through Beat Pad. As he began working with Entreband, his cohort Tom C Bumpz, and local platinum-selling producer Purpdogg, Souly Had combined rapping with more R&B-styled singing, experimenting with melodies and arrangements. The positive comments he received on his Soundcloud account convinced him that he was heading in the right direction.
