Boosted by his slickly dexterous flow and witty bars, Nef The Pharoah is the standard bearer for the Bay’s new wave. Providing a psychedelic twist on his region’s signature rap scene, Nef shares Mushrooms & Coloring Books, his new album. With provocative cover art courtesy of @Distortedd, the album bends the framework of Bay Area rap, staying true to its foundations, but pushing the boundaries with playful experimentation. Running the gamut from mob music to electro-funk to smooth jazz to Ibiza-friendly dance-rap, Mushrooms & Coloring Books proves Nef’s endless adaptability, weaving his malleable flow between hits of acid bass, breaking into nursery rhyme patter, and even flashing a skill with melody when the occasion calls. Featuring appearances from Tyga, Sada Baby, ALLBLACK, Slimmy B of SOB x RBE, Rexx Life Raj, ShooterGang Kony, LOE Gino, and Scando The Darklord, and with production from Brodinski along with Bay Area mainstays like Djfresh and DTB, Mushrooms & Coloring Books releases via Sick Wid It Records/EMPIRE.
His latest offering, ‘Give A Little Love To Me’ is a stunning uplifting summer symphony. With an energized funky baseline and short catchy vocals which transition into an anthemic feel good melody:
Sick Joy have shared their new single, ‘Vibe Sucker’. The release comes alongside the announcement of their new EP, Them Days, which will be released on September 13th via SO Recordings, and an extensive headline tour with dates throughout October and November.

Bristol’s Laid Blak have trailed a unique path through the music jungle and picked up influential friends on the way. They don’t come much bigger these days than this key ally – Ed Sheeran. The red-haired one is a big fan, so much so that he used a section of the band’s earlier signature tune, ‘My Eyes Are Red’( 3.6 million views on You Tube) in one of his own album chart busting songs and to close his shows.
Portland death metal band VITRIOL premiere their playthrough of “Crowned In Retaliation” today with Invisible Oranges.
Watch the video, produced by Keith Merrow, exclusively on the site HERE. The track is off of the band’s debut full-length album To Bathe from the Throat of Cowardice out on September 6th via Century Media Records.
Fronted by the dual vocal assault given from guitarist Kyle Rasmussen and bassist Adam Roethlisberger, and driven by the inhuman drummer Scott Walker, VITRIOL proved to make a successful strike at the genre’s heart with their 2017 EP, Pain Will Define Their Death. Released via Italy’s Everlasting Spew, it already provided a shockingly intense glimpse at the whirlwind that is to be unfurled on the much anticipated debut record, To Bathe from the Throat of Cowardice.
Genre-bending artist, Kaylee Rose, has premiered a first listen to her new County Hip-Hop track, “Wagon” on Billboard.com (see here). The singer-songwriter is set to release the song to all streaming platforms and digital retailers on Aug. 16.
“Wagon” is a song about the path to success and how those who may have not been supportive in the past are always ready to ‘jump on the bandwagon’ once it’s too late. Rose commented, “The inspiration for ‘Wagon’ came from a good friend who challenged me to write a song as if I had already ‘made it’ in the music industry. Rappers are always writing songs about ‘making it’ before they do so he thought it would be fun to put a Country spin on the idea. Although the lyrics come from my perspective, I think it could be relatable for anyone. People will always doubt your dreams, goals and passions until they start to watch you succeed. This song is a sassy and honest way of saying ‘look at me now.'”

Turkuaz Announces Feature Film, ‘None’s A Ton,’ & Adds Fall Tour Dates
A great movie can act as a time capsule, documenting a specific era in time to relive, revisit and enjoy in the days to come, and that’s essentially what Turkuaz did in late 2018 while filming a live performance, which was promised to be released as a film at a later date.
“None’s A Ton is our first time truly capturing the Turkuaz show experience in a live concert film,” shares Turkuaz frontman, Dave Brandwein, who also co-directed and is credited as an Executive Producer on the film. “It’s something we’ve dreamed of doing for a long time and finally, it has arrived. This film is sort of a ‘best of’ of our favorite moments that have developed on stage over the last five years of non-stop, coast-to-coast touring.”

BRITTANY HOWARD SHARES NEW SONG AND VIDEO, “HE LOVES ME”
Today, Brittany Howard released “He Loves Me,” a song from her forthcoming debut solo album, Jaime. The soulful, slow-burning track – which debuted earlier today as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Apple Music’s Beats 1 – offers up a frank reflection on the unconditional nature of God’s love. While confessing she’s not a churchgoer, Howard punctuates the song with samples from a sermon by Reverend Terry K. Anderson, a Houston-based pastor she discovered on YouTube.
Once again, the disruptive and dynamic talent delivers pulsating verses over skittering beats. At the eye of the storm, he drops yet another airy and atomic hook immediately primed to make an irresistible impact. He recently revealed the music video for the song as well. Bathed in a glow of neon lights, he shines just as much as the setting with undeniable and uncontainable prowess.
