Echoing guitar leads set the mood, as his dynamic voice takes flight. Following on the heels of “This Shit Sux” earlier this year, the song gets right down to business and affirms his place among 2019’s hottest breaking talents.
Jeremy Ivey Shares Wistful Track “Greyhound” Feat. Margo Price, Debut Album Coming Out September 13
“I’ve spent a good amount of time when I didn’t have a working vehicle on a Greyhound bus seeing the country from a big dirty window,” singer and songwriter Jeremy Ivey says of his latest song’s inspirations. “Everyone on a Greyhound seems homeless, even if it’s just a temporary thing. In transit, between two lives. Everyone seems like they are in the throes of some intense drama. An alcoholic returning to a rehab in Tuscaloosa, a retired tollbooth operator with a Christmas present for his estranged son in Chattanooga. It’s like a mobile society. A modern caravan through a burned out Canaan.”
Anna of the North today shares her exuberant new track, “Playing Games”.
With flickers of synth layered over a building bass line, Anna Lotterud’s wistful vocals are stunningly juxtaposed with a fearless narrative as she sings about having the upper hand in a relationship. “I’ve been playing games with your heart, so I know I’ve made my mark,” she proclaims over delicate electronic textures, “I’ll make you jealous so I know I’ve still got you when I’m not home”. It’s daydream pop brimming with the bold outlook of a woman taking charge in the modern age.

Amendola Vs. Blades have announced the release of a new studio album, ‘Everybody Wins,’ on October 11 via Royal Potato Family. The funky California duo comprised of Wil Blades on Hammond organ and clavinet and Scott Amendola behind the kit have also added nine West Coast shows in October and November to support the collection. Throughout the eight tracks on ‘Everybody Wins’—the second studio album from the organ/drums duo—Blades’s cutting solos and deep bass lines make for a thick stew of soulful harmony and daring improvisation, while Amendola’s beats are simply unstoppable. In a move away from their debut album, ‘Greatest Hits,’ that primarily featured solely the two musicians, this latest effort from Amendola Vs. Blades is bursting not only with creativity, but with personnel. ‘Everybody Wins’ sees contributions from guitarist Jeff Parker (Tortoise), saxophonist Skerik (Les Claypool, Garage A Trois), percussionist Cyro Baptista (Herbie Hancock, Trey Anastasio), and keyboardist Rob Burger (Tin Hat Trio, Laurie Anderson). Unsurprisingly, the music is as outsized as the roster of guest musicians, moving between a number of styles and moods.

Foy Vance has unveiled a stunning acoustic performance video of “Wind Blows Chloe”, a track from his forthcoming album To Memphis, which will be released on September 6, 2019 on Ed Sheeran’s Gingerbread Man Records/Elektra. The acoustic video, which premiered earlier today on The Bluegrass Situation, was recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis.
Writes the esteemed blog of the release, “…that title mixed with the unrelenting fury of this album makes for exactly the kind of cathartic release you need when you feel like you’re suffocating from helplessness and the feeling of doubt that things will ever get better. Over the course of the 14 songs that make up their debut, SHOCK NARCOTIC… specializes in a type of grind that bottles up all the anger and unrest that a lot of us are feeling right now, and spits it back out with venom. It’s a total sonic assault, and as dystopian as it might be, it’s an album with modest production and lifelike screams that remind you it was made by humans who walk the same earth as we do.”
““Breeze” is the first single from my upcoming Window Weather EP. I enlisted my friend and collaborator Chewey (Jack McGuiness) to produce the incredible trap drum sounds and add to the psychedelic textures of what began as a demo recorded in my Toronto studio. What began as emailing files back and forth across the country culminated in a day spent finishing the track together out west.”
