for Skope: Valentino Khan’s 6-track “House Party” EP (ft. Diplo, Wuki, Chris Lorenzo, more)

“I set out to make an EP with a simple concept: great house music. Even though it’s been the backbone of dance music, I still have always looked to drive the sound forward. I wanted you to be able to listen to the music anywhere – driving in the car, in your bedroom, at the club or played out at a festival. I also wanted to bring in some collaborators that I felt have always been pushing boundaries in Diplo, Wuki & Chris Lorenzo. So here’s my ‘House Party’ EP. I’m truly proud to release this body of work to the world. Listen to this everywhere and anywhere.” – Valentino Khan

NEWS: Hot Club of Cowtown goes wild on first album of original material in ten years, ‘Wild Kingdom,’ out Sept. 27.

Something magical happens when the sultry hot jazz made famous by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli meets the hard-driving Western swing sound pioneered by Bob Wills and early string bands of the American Southwest. The ear-catching result of this surprising marriage is the Hot Club of Cowtown, the effervescent Austin-based trio beloved for more than two decades by devoted fans across the United States and around the world. Romantic and rhythmic, happy-making and heart-breaking, sophisticated and elegant while still down-to-earth and rugged, the Hot Club of Cowtown now returns with its much-anticipated eleventh album, an enticing new collection of original compositions (plus a few inspired standards) entitled Wild Kingdom.

Electric Youth’s New LP ‘Memory Emotion’ Out Now

Many of the album’s songs feel like they’re from forgotten movies, or ones that haven’t been made yet.” – AllMusic

Devon Welsh: “Somebody Loves You”

Devon Welsh just announced his sophomore Album True Love (out Oct 11 on his own record label You Are Accepted.) In an age of collaborations & high-end production — Devon Welsh highlights the importance of the individual voice as an instrument in music. After his 1st solo album Dream Songs in 2018 (Pitchfork, FADER, Noisey, Billboard, etc), he moved to rural Wisconsin to recorded this new album while working on his emotional health through meditation and therapy… True Love reflects on the real, ambiguous emotional spaces around love – romantic, platonic, internal; how it can be a game, a daydream, a paradise, or horror. It also touches on our culture’s rigid notions of manhood / masculinity, with men now trying to move past macho stereotypes into a deeper, more authentic understanding of identity & love.

Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Paula Cole premieres “Go On”

“‘Go On’ began 26 years ago in 1993, a melody and groove I composed while living in San Francisco just starting my career,” Cole explains to Parade. “My manager Carter thought it was a hit (even though there were no words!) but I never finished the song. Carter is sadly no longer alive, I miss him very much, and I finally finished the song for him. I hope he is right about it, we’ll see! I think I just needed to live life a while in order to have something lyrically fitting for the music. Post-divorce, 13 years deep into my relationship with the love of my life, in all its struggle and beauty, I’ve found my words.”

NY-based 80’s goth/dream pop/industrial band Reduction Plan shares urgent “Deliver”

Reduction Plan’s music comes from within solitude’s frigid embrace. Synth swells, hypnotic guitars, pulsing drum machines, and haunting murmurs form the foundation of the project’s sound.
