Ezra Jordan – My New Single: “Is It Just Me”
“My new single – “Is It Just Me” – was written about a break-up I went through. It wasn’t your typical breakup because it happened while we were travelling together in South-East Asia. It was sad, but we agreed it was for the best. However, things changed for me once I got back home from the trip. She continued to travel for 6 months after we parted ways, and it seemed like every time I went online, I was seeing her moving on so well from the breakup while having the time of her life. I, on the other hand, was back in our hometown, surrounded by constant reminders of our time together. Thinking about her was totally inescapable, and I got the idea for this song during one of those sleepless nights where I couldn’t get her out of my head.”
LEA PORCELAIN // EP OUT NOW
Speaking about the EP the band state:
We liked that idea of creating a studio space in a place that is not a studio. So
beginning of the year we said goodbye to Berlin and took the band with us to Spain to record new tracks. We had no distractions during that time and I think you can hear that in the music. The “Love Is Not An Empire” EP is the extract and product of composing in foreign lands. No studio, no daily distractions – just simple means of a synth, a mic and a guitar. Production with drums and overdubs came afterwards in Berlin but we really came to the conclusion: Minimalist composition is really the only way to write a good song. These songs are about freedom, living your passion and cutting the ties that bind and isolate us.”

Imani Coppola to Release Dazzling New Album THE PROTAGONIST October 4th
NYC-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Imani Coppola is announcing her upcoming spectacle of a record, The Protagonist, out October 4, 2019 via Ipecac Recordings. An album for a sunny day in the depths of an inevitable dystopia, The Protagonist radiates with a sense of urgency and inspiration – every song fraying at the edges from Imani’s barefaced need to deliver her message, coming from a place of love, hurt, deep emotion, or a momentous compulsion to be abrasive as fuck. As a mirror to her sense of urgency and chaos, The Protagonist shifts genres like a gymnast, flawlessly morphing from the Country hoe-down of “Blackteria” to the rhythmic 60s girlgroup of “Rattle” to the piano-led balladry of “Contributing Member of Society” without a misstep or tumble.

Named after the New Orleans Pelicans basketball player and Big Baller Brand representative Lonzo Ball, “Lonzo” follows Doodie Lo’s video for “Time Out,” released in May.
Watch Joel Rafael’s Powerful Video for ‘Abraham, Martin and John’
This is a song Joel Rafael always wanted to record but the time never felt more right until now. Inspired when he saw it performed by Bob Dylan and Clydie King, Rafael asked Eliza Gilkyson to sing it with him because they grew up during the same era and took away many of the same values and feelings represented in this song written by Dick Holler in 1968. When singing it, Rafael not only thinks of the subjects in the song, but also of others gone too soon, who championed values that make the world a better place for every one.

Carter is sadly no longer alive, I miss him very much, and I finally finished the song for him. I hope he is right about it, we’ll see! I think I just needed to live life a while in order to have something lyrically fitting for the music. Post-divorce, 13 years deep into my relationship with the love of my life, in all its struggle and beauty, I’ve found my words.”
