James V Releases Hilarious, Intense Dance Video for “Blondie”

James V premieres a new music video for single “Blondie” via Grimy Goods, out today worldwide, in which James inexplicably gives the dance performance of his life in a vain attempt at gaining the approval of four friends over Skype.

“Blondie” is a psych-funk meld of Gary Numan and Talking Heads met with the modern pop nous of UMO — described by LA Record as a “jiggly-as-jello slab of funky new wave AOR”. Self-recorded and self-produced by James V, the track features mixing contributions from Sean Cook (French Vanilla, Sharon Van Etten) and Sean Guerin (De Lux, Innovative Leisure). Cover art by Bijou Karman.

Synthpop Band IRIS Announces The Release Of “SIX” Via Dependent Records

IRIS, as a band, is difficult to pigeonhole. Mixing Depeche Mode-era synth, angular guitars, and an introspective writing style doesn’t sound that unique.

On their 6th full-length album, the North American duo consisting of Reagan jones (vocals), and Andrew Sega (keyboards, production) prove once more that they are able to slowly evolve, yet still rely on their natural strengths – without repeating themselves or boring their audiences. This starts with the amazing vocals of Reagan Jones, that always impress with their natural, yet almost ethereal, ability to convey all the emotion embedded within IRIS’ music. His talents works on both worlds, on record and live – a satellite broadcasting a delicate message from far away.

Kazyak Shares Opening Number from ODYSSEY, Out August 16th

“A swirling, psychedelic sound brings us gradually into a beautiful, soothing soundscape. Eventually, reverb-filled vocals are added in, giving it a slight otherworldly sound. When one takes into account the lyrics, it truly is stunning how well they go with that sound, as the song is about exploring the unknown and the universe around us.” – Imperfect Fifth

Gold Panda’s New Single “Transactional Relationship” Out Now via City Slang

The track was made using a sample from Hilary Woods’ “Sever,” a song from her 2018 Sacred Bones album, Colt. Gold Panda elaborates: “I made the track at home. I had a track nearly done and I’d bought the Hilary Woods LP after seeing her support Low at the Barbican and decided to give it a play during a tea break. There were bits that went really well with what I’d made so I decided to chop parts up in my mpc and layered them over my track, thus ruining Hilary’s song for evermore. I did a sort of ‘live take’ and that was it.

SIFTING shred downtown Los Angeles rooftops with smoke grenades and progressive metal with new ‘Stop Calling Me Liberty’ music video and single

“Stop Calling Me Liberty is a song we wrote about The Statue of Liberty” states front man Eduardo Osuna Gil. “Every day our country is pushed further apart, divided by the partisan politics and nothing gets done for the people. I often think about the Statue of Liberty and how she is a magnificent symbol of liberty and unification watching over our country from Liberty Island. If she could speak to us today, what would she say? I don’t really think she would be pleased. I think she’d be pretty damn pissed off.”

Pauline Andres “Hoping For the Best at the Springwater Supper Club” Single

“Hoping For the Best at the Springwater Supper Club”, the new single from musician Pauline Andres, calls out to a distant love from the half-lit corner of a Nashville dive bar. Melodies capture daydreams of cigarette smoke aimlessly drifting away from the table’s ashtray. It pays homage to the notable local dive bar, the Springwater Supper Club. If the building had its own soundtrack, the single would embody the smooth, soulful twang that is embedded into every nook and cranny of the walls. “Hoping For the Best at the Springwater Supper Club” is out for release August 5.
