Ed Sheeran’s Divide Tour to Set All-Time Highest-Grossing Tour Record
Pollstar can officially confirm that tonight, Friday, Aug. 2, Ed Sheeran’s Divide Tour will set the all-time highest-grossing tour record. With this evening’s show at Messegelände in Hannover, Germany, the 246th show of Sheeran’s nearly two-and-a-half year run, Pollstar forecasts the total gross thus far of his Divide Tour, $736.7 million, will surpass the previous record set by U2 in 2011. U2’s 360 Tour’s all-time record of $735.4 million, set on July 30, 2011, was a towering accomplishment many thought would never be broken.
“I just found out the Divide Tour is set to be the highest-grossing tour of all time — this is amazing,” said Sheeran in a statement. “I feel very lucky to have experienced all of the wonderful countries and crowds over the past 2 ½ years. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made it possible.”

WOODSTOCK 50LDEN: A Celebration/Tribute Concert for the Original Woodstock Festival – Sat Aug 17
On Saturday August 17th, it doesn’t appear that there will be a Woodstock 50 celebration put together by organizer Michael Lang. However, several of the attendees of the original Woodstock Festival – and their children – have decided to take matters into their own hands; bringing peace love and music back to NY by staging a special tribute to the 50th Anniversary of the event with a concert comprised of some of the top up and coming acts from the New York area – happening at the Michael Kudish Natural History Preserve, 2515 Tower Mountain Rd in Stamford, NY – about an hour and a half from where the original fest took place.
Joe Olnick’s New Song Avant-Jam Fusion
Joe is self-releasing IGUANA on September 6. Based in the fusion genre, IGUANA has rock influences, from Talking Heads to Pink Floyd to REM to the Allman Brothers. Comic book artist Ron Good (of the horror series, God-Awful Comics) designed the album art about the story of a misunderstood Iguana named Don, who eventually—after lots of struggles ultimately gets his own hot rock to rest upon! “There are parallels of Don’s life with my own career,” Joe says. “I’m an artist producing original instrumental work, so it’s a struggle at times to get my music out there.”
