KANO ANNOUNCES 6TH STUDIO ALBUM HOODIES ALL SUMMER
Today, Kano announces his much-anticipated return with his 6th studio album HOODIES ALL SUMMER set for release August 30th via Parlophone/Atlantic Records. The announcement is accompanied by two new tracks from the album – “Trouble” and “Class Of Deja” (feat. D Double E and Ghetts) – as well as a new music video. The 17-minute double video is directed by Aneil Karia, based on a concept by Kano, and was shot over two days in London earlier this summer.

Death By Fungi is a Mumbai based hardcore act that takes inspiration from different styles of mathcore, metallic hardcore, d-beat, and other hardcore subgenres. They have been around since 2013 and are considered one of the pioneers of the Bombay Hardcore scene, through several EP’s and splits. Their debut EP ‘Die In Bombay’ releases on 5th of August, and their first single is already streaming.

Showtime Documentary Films today announced it will premiere the new documentary HITSVILLE: THE MAKING OF MOTOWN from directors Benjamin and Gabe Turner (Class of 92, I Am Bolt, One Direction: This Is Us) on Saturday, August 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The remarkable story of the legendary Motown Records is told through new and exclusive interviews with the label’s visionary founder, Berry Gordy, and many of its superstar artists and creative figures, as well as rare performances and behind-the-scenes footage unearthed from Motown’s vaults and Gordy’s personal archives. HITSVILLE: THE MAKING OF MOTOWN is the first documentary about the iconic label with Gordy’s participation.

“‘Horses’ started as a little riff Robin was playing during the first sessions for The Way Home, way back in 2014,” recalls Ikebe Shakedown’s Dave Bourla on the new single. “I found the recording and sent it to Robin on his birthday a year later. Eventually, after some writing with the rest of guys and an epic over-the-phone session, the band ended up with a really different type of song for us. In many ways, it’s our most complete effort to tell a full story, from its production to its instrumentation. Having just the guitar at the start and then adding the whole band gradually, all bookended by the wind – hopefully people can let it wash over them and stir something deep in their imaginations.”

The video was directed by Max Goodrich and shot at the Sassafras Saloon in Los Angeles. Digital Farm Animals’ ‘Pigman’ self-proclaimed the video a ‘modern artistic masterpiece’ as it takes place in the futuristic Wild West, where cowboys and robots have taken over the saloon, and Pigman and AJ Mitchell engage in a high-stakes poker game.
