Speaking about bringing the song – which is an ode to unrequited teenage love – to life visually, director Gemma Yin says, “We wanted to make a vibrant video for ‘On the Bus’ to compliment Ellen’s colourful style and personality. She had seen a summery collage animation that she loved so we ran with the idea of shooting her in still photography sequences before deconstructing the imagery to build our own unique world of surreal collage. We meander between recognisable elements from the story of the lyrics and random things from Ellen’s imagination in this performance video – it is like a hyper-charged daydream!”

Legendary London Music Venue Saved By Improbable Band

It’s no exaggeration to say that Rock n Roll Suicidez have one of most improbable line-ups of any band in the UK. Proto-punk bassist OPG is a part-time poet; American guitarist Kyle exudes rockabilly sensibilities; Paul digs deep on down-the-line rock rhythm guitar; nearly 11-years since transitioning, Transwoman drummer Antonia pummels out her tribal drum patterns in a unique style and autistic singer Sharne’s thrillingly assertive vocals combining to create a sound which echoes the sound of punk past but with an energy and style which fits perfectly in today’s musical climate.

IGGY POP: NEW ALBUM OUT SEPTEMBER 6

On the process that led Iggy and principal players Leron Thomas and Noveller to create this uniquely somber and contemplative entry in the Iggy Pop canon, Iggy says:

“This is an album in which other artists speak for me, but I lend my voice…

By the end of the tours following Post Pop Depression, I felt sure that I had rid myself of the problem of chronic insecurity that had dogged my life and career for too long.

But I also felt drained. And I felt like I wanted to put on shades, turn my back, and walk away. I wanted to be free. I know that’s an illusion, and that freedom is only something you feel, but I have lived my life thus far in the belief that that feeling is all that is worth pursuing; all that you need – not happiness or love necessarily, but the feeling of being free.

So this album just kind of happened to me, and I let it happen.”
