PERPETUAL FATE – new official video for “Cannibal”

Perpetual Fate is an alternative melodic metal project based in Padua and born in 2015. In 2016, after several months of rehearsals the group started playing their first gigs and expanding their setlist with new songs. The former members Gianluca Evangelista, Diego Ponchio and Zaccaria Saidi decided to change the lineup adding a new vocalist and a new drummer: Maria Grazia Zancopè and Marco Andreetto. Since then the band became more solid and started developing new songs; in September they recorded their first single “Rainfall”.2017 saw the band starting their first live experiences as an opening act for well-known italian metal bands like Eternal Idol, Overtures and Secret Sphere, bringing their music outside the usual places and meeting new people. During summer the group won the “Find Festival” 3rd edition and in September released their first EP named “Secret”, which included 4 new songs and the latest single “Rainfall” as bonus track. By the end of the year the band parted ways with guitar player Zaccaria Saidi, who was later replaced by Massimiliano Pistore, member of Overtures. In 2018 the group decided to record their first LP titled “Cordis”. This release will have a younger and american-inspired sound with a lively mix of melodies, riffs and solos under modern drumming patterns and a wide synthesized-electronic touch.

Husband-Husband Duo, Soft People, Get ‘Tender’ With New Single

“‘Tender’, for anyone of a certain age, instantly conjures up memories of the 80s, specifically angst-ridden bands such as The Cure, The Smiths, and even a touch of New Order. Sonically, the beat – on this track provided by Patrick Spurgeon, drummer with fellow California band, Rogue Wave – is a close match for The Cure’s ‘Close To Me’, while vocally we’re most reminded of ‘Cemetery Gates’ by The Smiths. In any case, there’s a definite retro sound which we’re really enjoying. Previously we drew comparisons to their fellow Californian contemporaries, Peppermint Heaven, and we maintain this with ‘Tender’; this time however, there’s something more, an excitement beyond the angst, and it’s made us, in turn, quite excited about what Soft People have in store for us.” – Essentially Pop

Marsicans release candid video for bombastic new single ‘Little Things’

Speaking about the video, frontman James Newbigging says, “As the song is based around the little things in life which brighten your day, we thought it would be nice to showcase some of these in the video. Our long-time visual heroes Leeds film company Sodium got onboard and we invited a load of fans down to their studio. We asked people to bring their ‘little thing’ that makes them happy and show it off in a photobooth setting. It could have been anything: a family heirloom, a teddy, a friend. I even brought my dog down for a guest appearance. It was so nice to spend the day with everyone and see their reactions when they were in the booth with their thing that they love.”

The Bright Smoke share third album ‘Gross National Happiness’

The Bright Smoke from Brooklyn have just released their third album, Gross National Happiness, which came out on July 5 — the day after Independence Day (draw any conclusions that seem fitting). This LP is the project’s first release in four years, and of course, quite a bit has happened (politically) since then. The anxiety, fear, and chaos of the album cover says it all.

ALCOHOL FUELED STONER ROCK FOR THAT ASS!!

“These guys are writing music that is fun and engaging, guaranteed to fuel your next kegger. There is a certain manic dedication to the music that makes Bro Jovi’s debut Songs to Crush Beers To Vol. 1 strangely addictive. The crunchy vocals and the epic guitar tone immediately reach out and fill me up with the urge to party. Bro Jovi understand how to get ripped in the least classy, most violent and destructive way possible. In other words, Bro Jovi may very well be this generations Municipal Waste, only now groovier and more Motorhead inspired. If they aren’t, we stil have an awesome new band, who prove the cult of partying will never die.” – Two Guys Metal Reviews

MYLINGAR: Cvlt Nation Premieres “Giftet” As Döda Själar LP Nears Release Through 20 Buck Spin In August

Less an album of songs to passively enjoy, MYLINGAR’s Döda Själar is an all-encompassing specter of claustrophobic oppression and pestilence, draping its blackness over everything and leaving little but barren wasteland behind. An unexplainable, unknowable force for the malevolent villainy that envelops our world. Fans of Deathspell Omega, Portal, Altarage, Ulcerate, Pissgrave, and similar auditory barbarity must hear MYLINGAR.

Captured Tracks shares new single from B Boys at Talkhouse

A statement from video directors Jon Campolo and Josie Keefe:
We were inspired by drummer Andrew Kerr’s introspective & candid photographs that document B Boys’ tours. His behind the scenes photos show the band goofing off, setting up, and blowing off steam – mostly offstage. We manipulated Kerr’s photographs by painting, cutting and tearing them, riffing on Rauschenbergian collage, stop motion, the hand choreography of Sole Mani, and John Baldessari’s paintings. The effect is manic, mirroring the nostalgic energy of ‘Instant Pace.’ The band members faces are obscured and transformed into a painted world of devils, aliens and smileys. Who’s who??

Gregory Alan Isakov’s “Southern Star” music video premieres at Paste

Of the record—his fourth full-length studio album and first in five years—Isakov comments, “I’d work really hard into the night. A lot of times I would find myself in the light of all these VU meters and the tape machine glow, so that’s where the title came from. I recorded mostly at night, when I wasn’t working in the gardens. It doesn’t matter if it’s summer or winter, morning or afternoon, this music always feels like evening to me.”
