Kate Nash Releases New Video, New Song & Documentary

Award-winning musician, artist, activist and actress, Kate Nash has debuted the official music video for her song “Body Heat.” Created by Kate Nash, Aidan Zamiri and Thomas Silverman — also featuring her dog Stella — the intentionally low-budget-feel video was shot in a cabin in the lush Idyllwild forests over-night. “We found a vintage/twin peaks inspired home and arrived at dark and shot through the night.” Kate reveals. “It was the quickest most fun video shoot I’ve ever done. The idea was a sexy cliché pop music video with a comedic twist. The love interest is an invisible man, as I wanted to represent those moments of self-love, when I’m in the bedroom in the video I’m with my naked invisible man and essentially I’m alone. You can still have those sweet, sexy relief from loving yourself through stressful moments.”

Jaz Coleman states: “Over the last 30 years I’ve been asked one question over and over again: what new band do you like? And the answer generally has been zero, there are not many new bands that I like, except while I was on tour, we played Rome with Killing Joke and the opening act was just stunning. They were so powerful, such epic sounds, so cinematic. The logic seems I have to work with them. So to cut a long story short, Deflore came to Prague and we’ve just done a fantastic EP together, such beautiful music, and I hope everybody gets a listen to this incredible Italian band Deflore!”

Elliott wrote “Sanctuary” at a time that she felt victim to her own self-hatred and anxiety; she decided, day by day, to change the language she was using to redirect the aggression from her own shortcomings to the hatred itself. In this song, she’s personifying self-hatred, and basically laying ground rules for what kind of thoughts and behavior would be welcome in her own life. The accompanying video was written and directed by Beth Fletcher, and its accompanying choreography taps into a sense of pride that emerged like a monarch butterfly from slumber.
