Bad Books’ Acclaimed New LP ‘III’

Bad Books’ long-awaited, much anticipated new album III is out now digitally and has been earning the band — Andy Hull, Robert McDowell (both of Manchester Orchestra), and Kevin Devine — great press from outlets including The FADER, Garden & Gun, Paste, Exclaim! (8/10 stars), Brooklyn Vegan, and NPR Music (New Music Friday playlist), among others, ahead of its physical release this Friday, June 21st (Loma Vista Recordings). The trio will kick off the initial leg of their U.S. headline tour in support of III tonight in Chicago, IL, and wind their way to the northeast before wrapping up with two NYC area shows in Brooklyn, NY, and Jersey City, NJ, on June 27th and 28th, respectively.

New Music // Chris Jamison (NBC’s “The Voice”)

For Pittsburgh-based singer songwriter Chris Jamison, the last four years have heralded momentous changes in both his personal and musical life. After appearing on the seventh season of The Voice, Chris moved back home to live with his parents. He explored his own spirituality. He struggled with obsessive-compulsive disorder. He got married to his childhood sweetheart. He fought to stay humble following the sudden onrush of popularity following his stint on television.

CAROLINE POLACHEK RELEASES NEW SINGLE “DOOR” ALONGSIDE VIDEO

Today pop artist and songwriter/producer Caroline Polachek has released “Door”, a stunning new video and song. “Door” is the first taste of a forthcoming, larger solo project from Caroline to be released later this year. Clocking in at almost six minutes, the song is an addictively groove-heavy odyssey, grounded yet heady. Caroline guides us organically through warm waves of acoustic guitar, glittering synths, and car-shaking bass into a minute-long wordless vocal solo.

Ecstatic Vision to Release New LP, ‘For the Masses’, September 20

Philadelphia heavy psych band Ecstatic Vision will release its new album, ‘For the Masses’, on September 20 via new label home Heavy Psych Sounds. Recorded in Philadelphia at Retro City Studios with Joe Boldizar and mixed/mastered by Tim Green (Earthless, Sebadoh, The Melvins) in Grass Valley, CA, Ecstatic Vision’s critically-celebrated, fuzzed-out sound has been sculpted into a Hi-Fi psychedelic wonderland on the new LP.

Versus announce first full-length album in 9 years

Versus has had a true return to form in 2019, with the new Ex Nihilo EP already under their belts, shows supporting the likes of Ex Hex, and a triumphant return to SXSW. They’ll be celebrating the release of Ex Voto with fellow Ernest Jenning rockers SAVAK at Baby’s All Right on July 12, along with Big Bliss.
