The Women Changing The Midde East; Layla Kardan Joins Forces With Saudi Arabia’s Biggest Influencers
Having gained support from some of the largest and most respected brands and performed on major UEA stages such as Emirates Airline Jazz Festival, Art Dubai, and the Dubai International Film Festival, Layla Kardan has now returned, collaborating with one of Saudi Arabia’s most exciting and upcoming fashion designers, Arwa Al Banawi on new single ‘The Suitable Woman’, produced by rising middle eastern star, ROBN.
New release by Calista Kazuko who has made a very bizarre and edgy video for ‘Come To Mama’ which must be seen just to understand what I mean, Calista is all about ‘powerful woman being sexualized in the past’. To try and pigeon hole the genre of the track is heard but you can glimpse some early cinematic Goldfrapp with the craziness of Bjork. Calista is also the singer in the acclaimed project ‘Voice of Aiko’

Sir Woman (Kelsey Wilson of Wild Child) Announces Debut Single “Highroad”
Kelsey Wilson, co-founder and fontwoman of the indie-pop band Wild Child, is Sir Woman. The new project from Wilson releases her first single today, “Highroad,” featuring performances from Robert Ellis (Guitar/Piano), Nik Lee (Guitar) of The Texas Gentlemen, Daniel Creamer (Keys/Synth), and Taylor Craft (Musical Arrangements / Bass) and Tom Myers (drums) of Wild Child.
A follow up to his self-title 2018 release, the new EP is a strong showing of a fully-modern singer-songwriter, bent on expressing life’s more intense and complicated emotions from loss, memory, to freedom despite pain. The dark, moody, and synth-heavy sounds make the record feel like a lonely 3AM smoke on a rooftop in L.A.
The sonic palate of the record is a mixture of many of the bands influences, such as James Blake, The Neighbourhood, Bon Iver, Chet Faker, and Caribou. This wide range of inspirations push genre-blurring to the max and result in an edgy, dark energy that pervades the record.

“‘This Simulation is a Good One’ is about taking a moment to notice the details of the world around you,” says Mercereau of the track. “Slowing down to appreciate the beautiful intricacies of every day life. It’s a state of appreciation for the countless little events that had to happen for you to be where you are today. Everything from the mundane to the spectacular. Even if we are not the original beings and we are participating in the ancestor simulation, it’s a good one. This song was made in Elysian Heights, Los Angeles on a Tascam 388 with Roland GR300 guitar synthesizer and live percussion from Derek G Taylor.”

I always try to hide it but then when I’m alone and am looking in my bathroom mirror, I know I’m beautiful. I’m good enough. I hope everyone feels that.”
