Chris Crack shares “Iceberg Dali” via Adult Swim Singles

Adult Swim Singles have teamed with Chris Crack for the 40th installment of the current program. “Iceberg Dali” is the most recent in a slew of releases from the ultra-prolific Chicago MC, who released no less than 6 full length projects last year (including Just Gimmie a Minute, which landed on Pitchfork’s “Best Rap Albums of 2018” list). Crack’s unorthodox approach and effortless blend of humorous and dark lyrical matter has earned him critical notoriety as a singular talent. In a city whose ever-elevatting rap scene leans into self-seriousness, Crack’s sometimes frantic, sometimes breezy delivery has steered him into a lane all his own.

“I’ve heard that wisdom comes from two things: love and experience,” says Wilder Woods. “But I don’t think you can understand either unless you’re willing to take the first step out of the “comfortable” and dive headfirst into the unknown.”

Pete Berwick, off his new album ‘Island’

Along with releasing six albums, the Chicago-based Berwick is also an author and actor, and has written and published four novels, as well as having appeared in film and television. He is also an amateur boxer. “Can’t kill a man born to hang,” is Berwick’s motto, as he fearlessly travels from town to town and roadhouse bar to roadhouse bar with a lifetime of critically acclaimed songs and his battered six string.

The smog-clogged disco rock of ‘Dirty Air’ sees Alex lustily prowling a ruined city’s dancefloors, posing through the ecological collapse: “The sky is falling, so pull up a chair”. “I thought what if we celebrated the end of the world and just had a big party?” he grins.

Frontman and songwriter Dryden is something of an anachronism – a multi-instrumentalist who relishes the performance aspects of a live show while also penning lyrics that call upon 19th Century Romance poetry and musical arrangements that exude cinematic, art-rock sensibilities.

Lowly Share Video For “12:36” || New Album ‘Hifalutin’ Out Now On Bella Union

Directed by Martin Masai Andersen and shot over four weekends in London, the video documents Stefani and David, a homeless couple struggling with addiction. Speaking of the video the band elaborate: “Martin has created a documentary about two people finding comfort in each other. He has shown a stark and very honest look into a “day-in-the-life” of a drug addict with all the issues surrounding it, including sleeping rough and also being in a relationship. He does it in a poetic and empathic way, not to manipulate or be sentimental about it, but just to show a real story. The meeting between our music and his visuals is pretty remarkable. To us the song embodies the collision between conflict and peace and identity, between the female and masculine, the fragile and soft against the hard. It’s a song about existing and being hyper sensitive about that very fact. Through Martin’s lens we get a view of Stefani and David’s life, but also their emotions and thoughts as well. We feel honored to be invited into all their worlds.”

NYC-based dark pop artist Sara Kendall shares her official music video for “Fantasies,” a track off her 2018 EP, Comply. Blackbook premiered the video with praise, stating, “The lyrics tell a story of pushing on through a poisonous relationship, something which probably hasn’t changed all that much since the 13th Century. And indeed, Kendall complement’s the song’s sultry, sensual trip-hop aesthetics with a chorus of rather medieval-sounding harmonies.” Sara Kendall’s Comply EP is out on streaming platforms, along with her latest single released last month, “Daydream.”

888 Returns With Dramatic New Visuals

Resting confidently within layers of synthesizers and demonstrative drums, Denver, Colorado based 888’s Critical Mistakes EP and “Everybody Can’t Complain” their latest full length album, rests a poignant and recurring message- “Don’t give up.” Throughout the course of the infectious Alternative-Electro sounding songs, road-tested frontman Danny Stillman repeatedly reaffirmed the significance and impact of staying the course. Regardless of life’s accomplishments and catastrophes, the band, rounded out by (drummer) Danny Cooper, definitely accentuate the importance of continuing on. Unwilling to rest easy, 888 is consistently pushing forward and actively reaching for more.

Nolan The Ninja – Bloom (New Video)

“I wrote “BLOOM” after I wrapped up the first master of ‘SPORTEE’ last year. I was in a whole new space. It’s more of a ‘new chapter’ energy. At least, that’s what I aimed to channel. Something very relaxed but celebratory at the same time.” -Nolan The Ninja

New single ‘The Gift’ features soaring synths and atmospheric samples which oscillate and tremor with the lyrical themes of familial alienation and dis-unity.
