Melodically relating the harsh realities of hood life, Chicago’s Calboy is ready for his moment in the sun. Revealing his origin story and explaining his state of mind, Calboy shares “Unjudge Me,” his latest track from his forthcoming EP, Wildboy. Emoting atop minor-key piano, Calboy and guest star tunefully implores listeners to understand where he comes from before judging his actions–he suffered through poverty, loss, and despair and came out the other side a better man. The single features an appearance from Moneybagg Yo, who lends a learned gravitas to his verse. In the video, Calboy and Moneybagg Yo take a matte-black Dodge SRT Hellcat to a used car junkyard, symbolizing the pair’s glow-up from nothing to something.
“Unjudge Me” ft. Moneybagg Yo follows the Complex-premiered “Caroline” ft. Polo G, which earned over 1.6 million YouTube views since its release last week. Featuring additional appearances from Meek Mill, Lil Durk, Yo Gotti, Polo G, and Tre Pound, the Wildboy EP arrives later this Spring via Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records.
