Dublin five-piece Silverbacks share new single ‘Pink Tide’ | “a sardonic post-punk burst” – Stereogum

Silverbacks return with their new single ‘Pink Tide’, released on Thursday 16th May. Continuing their fruitful studio partnership with Girl Band’s Daniel Fox, with ‘Pink Tide’ they lay waste to easy pigeonholing and strike out on their own, furrowing a path laced with deadpan humour and some sick twin lead guitar lines. The Black Keys Debut Music Video For New Song “Go”

Director Bryan Schlam says about the making of the video, “For “Go” I felt like we needed to address the elephant in the room. Where have the guys been for 5 years? I thought- Let’s send them to the next level of therapy. A retreat. A commune. A place that’s supposed to symbolize peace and unity…and they’ll hate every second of it. It was a challenging video, not only in the task of having Dan and Patrick act in almost every shot – but also in keeping a narrative that feels cinematic and funny at the same time. We tried to balance the two, relying on situational humor and the effortlessly cool vibe of the song.”

Regarding the collaboration, Simon Neil explains “On meeting Jamie, we realized early on that we’d both had to deal with grief at a relatively young age and so it was interesting to talk about how we’d both dealt with it and the effect it had on us – and this is the main crux of the film, delving into the lonely world of grief and loss and coming out the other side.”

new HXLT music / video

This video is based off a true story of one time my brother and I were out driving around and looking for locations to shoot a video and taking still pictures. Some people saw us around, thought we were suspicious and called the cops. When the cops came they had guns drawn and were ready to shoot because someone mistaked our tripod for a Shotgun! Luckily they acted professional and didn’t just kill us.

This is a symbol of how as black people it’s even hard for us to do normal things without being looked at as suspicious on top of doing something foreign like scouting for a video. The fact that it’s almost dangerous to do something out of the norm of what people are used to is what’s scary. – HXLT

Nola’s Biglemoi Announce Debut EP

“Biglemoi’s ‘Joyride’ [is] an anthemic rocker that molds the big sound of early Arcade Fire with the musical versatility of Broken Social Scene. Biglemoi might very well sound quite unlike anything from New Orleans, a city versed in jazz traditions, as their rock-leaning sound makes them the Delta’s most unpredictable musical offering.” – Glide Magazine
