Bongo Boy Records Release ‘Love Is Vol. 3 by Various Artists’

Jose Calarco goes for a blissful ambient ballad with “Love”. Simple and understated the song radiates warmth. By far the heart and soul comes from the reassuring vocals that rest in the very center of it all.

“If You Were With Me” goes for a sweeping symphonic quality as Ann M. Wolf opts for a great intimacy. Everything about the piece works wonders from the nimble guitar work to the stripped-down percussion. All of it feels uniquely balanced.

Glowing jazz chords introduce Arthur Jae’s spirited R&B of “My Treasure Is You”. Such a luxurious sound defines the whole of the track. Bass has a physicality to it perfectly meshing with the laid-back grooves.

A western twang rolls through Annemarie Picerno’s “Trouble feat Kenny Lee”. Quite dreamy the lyricism has a poetic quality to it. Layer upon layer work wonders as they merge together in a pastoral fashion.

“Touching You Touching Me” slows the rhythm down to a reflective pace showing off Rita Faye Tanner’s impressive storytelling. Never rushed the piece gracefully rocks back and forth. Country, classic rock, with a hint of the blues result in a sound that teems with life.

Norm Crouse sings with a dreamy disposition on “Warts And All”. Instrumentally rich the arrangement possesses a vast array of color. Earnest the piece unfurls in a graceful fashion.

Jagged edges emerge on Studeo’s potent “Alright”. The arrangement has a summery tropical vibe to it. Full of a flirtatious spirit the piece grows ever larger while continuing to embrace its sly quality.

Rob Petitti opts for a folksy demeanor on the spacious soaring sound of “In Too Deep” featuring Giana Lynn . Nicely drawing from an ancient sound, the piece feels positively timeless. Soothing vocals give the whole of the track a heartfelt quality.

Keeping a steady rhythm with clear eyed focus is Mike Sands’ powerful “Discover Love”. Everything works from the way the sound sparkles to the hopeful demeanor that rises from the lyricism. Layer upon layer swirls into the mix giving it a holistic flavor.

Spacious to its very core is EG Holmes tender “Plains Of My Heart feat. Inge Van Hulle”. Drawing from Steely Dan’s unique jazz rock fusion the song possesses such elegance. Never overdoing things, the production positively shines.

Aptly named, Frank Trousdell’s “September’s Love Song” opts for an autumnal fervor. Featuring a loose rhythm, the song has a classic quality to it as Frank Trousdell’s lyricism proves to be highly articulate.

Jose Calarco chooses a mellowed atmosphere with “Twin Flames feat. Ana Forest”. Sweeping strings permeate the entirety of the piece as it builds up in tension. When Jose Calarco lets the sound truly loose the piece feels so free.

With a gritty rustic kind of Americana, Swamp Music Players “Scared To Love feat Laura Jacobs” chooses the path less taken. Keeping things to the essentials the song has a blurred beauty to it. Melodies feel so richly crafted as they evolve in unexpected ways.

EG Holmes delves into a serene sensibility with the psychedelic “WARM feat. Dean Leo and Matt Kaprelian”. Reminiscent of a late 60s band the song feels akin to a grand journey. The song works in subtle yet satisfying ways.

Neatly bringing it all to a close is Doug Ferony’s classic “Quando, Quando, Quando”. Drawing from Frank Sinatra to Antonio Carlos Jobim, a tropical rhythm underpins the whole thing. Quite luxurious it is easy to get lost within the track’s undeniable charm.
