Sydney indie songwriter Oly Sherman is at his melodic best on new single ‘Bones’

The single, produced by himself and Daniel Natoli (Once Around Saturn, Georgia Eyes), is driven by well-laid percussion and melodies, as Sherman’s folk vocals careens throughout. Similarities to Matt Corby and Ziggy Alberts aside, Sherman has grown into an artist all his own, harnessing powerful and yearning vocals, while expressing versatility as a musician and songwriter. ‘Bones’ is an example of Sherman’s dynamism and ability to wholly captivate.

Agouti – Nodes LP

Following the successive deaths of a close friend and four grandparents, Caruso realized she had to do something positive and life affirming. So she built her own instruments. And she built her own studio. And she built her own sound – eclectic and wildly unrestricted, nodding knowingly to generations of psych and 70s hard rock.

Silversun Pickups Debut New Song “Freakazoid” via Consequence Of Sound

“‘Freakazoid’ has been buzzing around my head for a few years now,” says lead singer and guitarist Brian Aubert. “It became our portal into what would become our record Widow’s Weeds. Like a first step, leaving an imprint that would affect major aspects of the album. Thematically, it’s coming from a very vulnerable place. Probably the most vulnerable on the album. It’s loaded with insecurity and desire to mend broken things together, almost as if it’s a last-ditch effort to do so. There is no pessimism.

Al Fakir and Pontare are longtime Bergling collaborators and worked with him on “Silhouettes”, “Hey Brother”, “Without You” and more. In the Spring of 2018, after Tim had been exploring music from northwest India, he played a melody loop for the two. “Oddly enough, the Indian influences fit perfectly into a song we were working on, something that was so typical of Tim” says Vincent Pontare. “He was a melodic genius.”

James Maslow “Love U Sober” Lyric Video

“A large portion of the music I’m going to put out is influenced by my past relationships. ‘Love U Sober’ acknowledges the fact that I was in a relationship with someone and we had so much fun, but after many months, I began to question it,” shares Maslow. “The sad part was the connection wasn’t as real as I thought; it was masked by the emotion of partying. Saying I want to love you sober might be more literal than people realize.”

Mirabai Ceiba’s new album Agua de Luna immerses the listener in a mesmerizing dreamscape of glistening strings, sparkling moonlight and two beautiful voices intertwining words of love and inspiration in both English and Spanish. From songs of hushed reverie to anthemic tracks that take all of humanity in a love embrace, Agua de Luna is a major new musical statement from one of the most-beloved duos in world devotional music.

Mello Music Group’s Chris Orrick Drops Political Single “Funny Things”

Detroit’s political, introspective Hip-Hop artist, Chris Orrick drops his latest single “FunnyThings” today on Hip Hop DX. The track is an ode to the feeling of doubt one experiences while watching our country go into a seemingly downward spiral with little to no hope of anyone in power doing anything about it.

Josh Gray – Nashville’s New Outlaw: Guitar Pickin’ & Fightin’ the Power

Music City is an outlaw town. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan & Willie Nelson, Josh Gray has begun planting his own roots in the heart of Americana-Nashville, TN. After three years in writing, Songs of the Highway debuts this April 16, 2019, setting the scene for progressive rebellion and lending a voice to the disenfranchised. On this 11-track LP, Josh Gray challenges the establishment and his listeners to act instead of acquiescing to circumstance.

Reminiscent of Music City’s pioneering revolutionaries, Songs of the Highway sheds light on modern social injustice and inequality in an increasingly self-absorbed society.

FUTURE HAUNTS share music video for ‘Weather Vane’

Shot by the band themselves on both film and camcorder, the DIY visuals follow Future Haunts through quintessential Brisbane scenes as they self-record at Plutonium Studios, play pool at the local pub, and shoot hoops at their neighbourhood court.

INGO Release Clockwork Orange Inspired Romp “Clockwork Toy”

Clockwork Toy grasps a modern view of forced isolation and prejudice whilst stepping out of an ordinary life. Written within minutes after watching Stanley Kubrick’s “A Clockwork Orange”, INGO compares the actions of chasing dreams today in the same manner as a violent psychopath in the movie. The genre of the song is crossed between New Grunge and Indie Rock, with a gospel touch at the grand finale and an electronic bass line tearing through the track.

Brooklyn-based Psychic Lines – “Snowball’s Chance”

Their new record, Dance, Cartoon Skeleton, really boasts a unique sound, similar to The National and The Magnetic Fields – quirky and different, smart and accessible.

LoveSick Radio Release New Blues Tinged Single, “Bloodshot Eyes”

“Good times now with part Ohio, part Vegas-based rockers Lovesick Radio. The opening riff sounds a little like a more rootsy You Shook Me All Night Long, but in truth this is a more layered affair – in a good way. Punchy blue-collar rock’n’roll, rough-edged touches of punk, pop rock, bluesy guitar soloing… All audibly drawing from the classic rock likes of The Stones, Aerosmith and co.” – Classic Rock Magazine
