Rich Layton & Tough Town Announce Single, “Live to Rock” Due Out May 13, 2019

With their new single “Live to Rock,” Rich Layton & The Tough Town provide an anthem for everyone facing doubt, roadblocks, and brick walls to reclaim the one true thing at the core of who they are. Due out May 13, “Live To Rock” is the lead track and second single off Salvation Road, the upcoming album co-produced by Layton and LA-based Terry Wilson, a fellow ex-Texan and 2019 Grammy nominee. Nashville Comedy Festival made its triumphant return to Music City April 8-14 with gut-busting laughs and record-breaking attendance. With more than 20 sold-out shows and over 45,000 tickets sold, the festival kicked off on a charitable note with the yearly TJ Martell Foundation Roast at Zanies, raising over $65,000.00 for cancer research.
Among the dizzying week of sold out shows included 2 sellouts of Polk Theater with comedy superstar Sebastian Manisicalco, sold out Ryman Auditorium shows from trendsetting YouTube comedy duo Rhett & Link, multi-talented mega-star Ali Wong, sharp-witted late night king Jim Jefferies, and 2 sellouts from rising comedy star John Crist. Tennessee kid Nate Bargatze brought a family affair to Polk Theater for 2 sold-out performances and Tiny Meat Gang podcasters Cody Ko & Noel Miller followed suit with their own sellout of Polk Theater.

Having sold out their limited edition colour vinyl of The Blanck Mass Sessions for Record Store Day on Saturday, Editors today unveil the second track from the album: Hallelujah (So Low). Fans queued overnight to get their hands on the limited physical run and copies are now changing hands online for over £100. The LP, made up of producer Blanck Mass original productions of their acclaimed 2018 top 10 album Violence, is out on general release on May 3rd via Play It Again Sam.

“It’s the leadoff track, kind of a Rosetta Stone, decoder ring, instruction manual to light the way,” Lead singer and songwriter Steve Wynn said of “The Way In”. “It’s all about clearing the decks, dusting off, fastening the spacesuit and bracing yourself for what might come next. It sounds like something we might have heard on the radio in 1981 when we were forming the band thinking, ‘Maybe we ought to sound like that.’”
LSD evolved as a natural kinship amongst artists, initiated by songwriters Labrinth and Sia who came together one night to write a song and quickly realized there were many more waiting to be penned. Their undeniable musical chemistry evolved and they were soon joined by Diplo, who rounded out the trio.
In speaking about the video, Hozier says: “Since the song references music so much and is about the experience of listening to music, the concept of this video is kind of drawing from the jazz tradition and just a lot of musicians and a lot of dancers whose disciplines stem from that tradition.”

Carl Anderson Announces Tour Dates with Paul Cauthen, Devon Gilfillian & Nikki Lane
Today, the Nashville-based singer/songwriter Carl Anderson announced tour dates supporting Paul Cauthen, Devon Gilfillian and Nikki Lane this spring and summer. On May 31, Anderson wil release his new EP You Can Call Me Carl, which Rolling Stone called, “…an EP of Seventies folk tinges, wistful bedroom pop and melancholic country heartache.”
As they prepare to release their final album, The Cranberries share the record’s title track “In The End.” The last song recorded for the album, and the last track on the album, it is an apt conclusion to a record that pays tribute to Dolores O’Riordan and brings to a close the band’s singular career.
“Joy Techniques” features echoes of Mercereau’s guitar-synth reverberating between Martin’s saxophone. “We weren’t ever asking for permission to do anything,” Mercereau says of the track. “We just played parts because we felt them in the moment.”
While the trilogy is a personal study of the space in-between, it unravels a slow-burning language of physical movement and focuses on the evolution from an individual to a collective sense of intimacy, trust, and all its liminalities in-between.
