Music brings everyone together, but not all music is created equally. When you are looking for a place to take a date, there are a few festivals that are better than others in that pursuit. That’s why we are going to count down the top five festivals to take a date to in 2019 so you can set up your date with the best time of her life.
South By South West (SXSW)
South by Southwest is a renowned music festival that is taking place in Austin, Texas this year. This is a great music festival to take your date because it is a very long one that lasts an entire week. You can come for a day to hear your favorite artists together or the two of you can stay the whole week. SXSW is known for being a great place to hear some new talent that is just getting its start, so you could come here to find artists that are clawing their way up to become known.
Coachella
Coachella is another festival that seems to be equal part fashion and music because of the famous people that attend it. It takes place in Indio, California and is known for making you feel even more remote than you already are. You’ll see big names there this year like Childish Gambino who is fresh off a massive Grammy win, and the chances are you could spot more than a few celebrities in the crowd. The only downside is that it can be quite expensive so you should start saving now!
New Orleans Jazz Festival
If you’re not looking to deal with massive crowds in the desert or the popular music scenes of the present day, then you can always head to the New Orleans Jazz Festival. This music festival does more than showcase the best of the best jazz in the area; it also celebrates the unique culture of New Orleans and invites outsiders to learn more. If that sounds like the kind of good time you want to have, then book a flight to Louisiana!
Warped Tour
For people who are trying to rock out to something a little heavier or spend some time in the mosh pits then there’s Warped Tour. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Warped Tour is crossing the country and bringing some big names with them. While the lineups are still forming, the fact is that this music fest always brings its top game to the mix to provide rock and metal lovers with some great times.
Pitchfork Music Festival
While it’s not as big as some of the other music festivals out there, Pitchfork Music Festival is definitely a good place to try out. Located in Chicago, this festival combines all sorts of music with local food and art for a truly unique experience. This year Lauryn Hill and Chaka Khan are two of the larger names that you can expect to see if you come out to the show.
All in all, there are many different festivals that you can take your date to if you want to have a good time. SXSW and Coachella are standard fare but a tad on the pricey side, so don’t be afraid to try out the New Orleans Jazz Festival for a different take on musical fun. All in all, it is never a bad idea to take a date to a musical festival.
